Moscow Fly Shop

11/30/08 Today is Sunday and the Shop is closed, so I'm at home in my editing room working on a set of book ends for TV advertisment for my up coming Fly tying class. Book Ends?? what's that?  I will be broadcasting to 15 second pieces on Comcast cable TV It's really a 60 second add split into 15 second parts. The fly tying classe are on the 2 center Saturday's of Jan, Feb and March 2009, Call 208-882-2868 Wed-Sat 10AM-6PM for more details.                                     One is run at the beginning of the progam and the other piece at or near the end of the program. I have 2 to make. One, as above for Fly tying, the 2nd will be for the Fly Shop.  The early Steelhead season went quite nicley. We had a good run of fish and the Fly Flipper's, for the most part caught and released a lot of Steelhead. That run is pretty much over now. So we wait for the B run. The B run has much larger fish. So hopes are high that this is a good run of fish also. Dale 11/3/08 Sold another Kelly Kettle today. What's a Kelly Kettle you ask? Check em out on my web sitewww.wildernessaccess.com click on the tall silver thing on the home page. Or call the Shop. The hours are 10AM-6PM Wed-Sat 208-882-2868 or 1-800-321-1129 for you folks that are out of Moscow. I know, I know, just another add! Hey, I have to have somthing to put in this Blog. All kidding aside, I would like to mention Kudo's to Poppy at the Red Shed Fly Shop down in Peck, Idaho. He held his third annual speyclave last Sat the 27th of Sept. What a blast, I really enjoyed myself. I talked to all the people, watched spey cast demo's and kicked all the Rod stands. Keep this in mind for next year 2009 I'm sure Poppy will hold this Speyclave about the same time. It's a fun day for all that have intreset in Spey (two handed Fly Rods)  Fly Fishing. Here in Moscow, at the Fly Shop, We are looking forward to our first day for steelhead fishing on this year. I have two friends that are dragging me kicking and screaming out of my shop to skate flies on the Clearwater for the day. Just kidding!! I've been salivating about this, my first day on the river for Steelies this year. Here's a way to float and fish that's just plain fun! We use the ACCESS EXP single person raft as our platform. You can wade while standing in the raft. As you can see, the floor is open to the water. While the other half has a floor and back rest. They are very comfortable and they make you feel really secure when wading in fast water. If you would like to investigate these rafts they are on my web site.www.wildernessaccess.com  Well enough for now, I have to get to work. Have a good day! Dale ...read more
