On April 6 2012, I ordered "The African Origins of Civilization" by Cheikh Anta Diop from the African Bookstore, an online bookstore doing business from Florida. Long story short, I never got the book or a refund, despite emails stating that the refund "was accepted by the system." They also have three different addresses listed, but two are suspiciously located in Broward Blvd! The address on my receipt is: 3600 W Broward Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312. Website address is listed: 7027 W. Broward Blvd, Plantation. FL 33317. They seem to like "Broward Blvd" because they were able to find one in Plantation as well as in Ft. Lauderdale Florida! What a coincidence! A third address is listed on site review websites: 311 Sw 29th Ter, Fort Lauderdale, FL. I was very surprised to see that Borders had transferred the manager from a defunct Waldenbooks to their Galleria store. Daniel Garcia is a dishonest retail manager who regularly lied not only to his customers but also was seen to abuse his staff in front of customers. If Borders can't find better staffing solutions than this, is it any wonder they are going out of business this year? I think I'll go back to B & N. ...read more

I am so sorry to hear they are going out of business. This was the BEST CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE in South Florida. My Prayer is that the owners make it though this and the Lord May a way for all them and all the staff. We want in to STAY OPEN! Let's all pray that somehow they get what they need!! If you are considering opening up a used bookstore you will have to go out and locate many books before you open up your store. You want to have a good selection of books on various topics so that people have plenty to choose from. Finding the books can be a challenge, but not impossible. ...read more
