Top Meat Markets in Salt Lake City, UT 84106

I sometimes think it's worth the drive over the 800 South to shop at the big Smith's. This gocery store is OK, but the selection is not great and the aisles are pretty narrow. Check-out lines can b...Read More…

Smith's Food and Drug

I have shopped at Smiths for years, and for the most part, the employees are wonderfully friendly and helpful. If you don't believe me, go find Issac or Shawn in produce, any of the gentlemen in the butcher shop, Victor, the assistant manager, or Austin at the check out. That "clawn," you wrote about (did you mean clown? I couldn't tell) may have been Ted. He wears funny things on his head to possibly invoke a smile. He's nice, particularly if you don't take your trip to the store so seriously. Smiths can not be held responsible for the placement of random drunks or panhandlers. Those are public parking strips those people are on. You should be thankful the foot traffic at Smiths is more brisk, lest that type of folk come down to your house. As it relates to any crime scene tape, should crimes occur, I would rather the management call the police. Thereafter, the police are responsible for the placement of any tape. That bridge was there because the concrete buckled, and people were tripping over the seams. I agree with you that it was odd, and was slippery, but they were trying to keep people safe. Reasonable minds may differ on the best mechanism, but since you asked, that was the issue. New concrete is being laid pursuant to a remodel. (The store was indeed being remodeled). I am just glad the handsome gents from the fire department where not there collecting money in their boots (as they frequently do). I'm sure you would've found fault with them, and who knows what you would've though about the pesky girl scouts and their cookies! Horrors! From your review it seems that Park City is truly the shangra-la we low-landers have always been lead to believe it is. No drunks, no broken concrete, no crimes, no silly hats, and no employees tempted to chat with each other One wonders why you'd move from such an idyllic locale to the aves to walk to Smiths (no less). If you're ever having a better day, inclined to actually give people a break and look on the lighter side, would love for you to try it again. Judging by the numbers, the rest of us like it fine, and you might like it better if you're inclined to treat the employees like the nice people they are. Go Smiths! ...read more

07/30/2010 \t\nMoving to Avenues after years living in Park City. I have been shopping at Smith's for years. To be at walking distence to the store was exciting. However my experiece was horrible!!!!\t\nThe first time I walked to the Parking lot. I was shocked. This homeless person was sleeping on the grass, drunk. Then I saw these yellow "" Police Crime Scene Tape "" in front of the store. I though the store is under construction. As I walked closer, I saw a bridge!!! sliver Bridge. I walked on that and it was slippery. Why is that stupid silver bridege is there??? As I walk into the store there was a clawn. He had the most stupid hat. bunch of other people with red shirts were all hanging around him. I asked him, where is your news papers and every one started to laugh. It was very instulting!\t\nDont these people have jobs?? Why they are hanging at the enternce..?? Waiting for some old person to fall and they make fun of them!\t\nI asked a woman that seemed like a employee , where are the light bulbs? She was so rude and unfriendly. It took her almost five minutes before she answer me with such an attitude ,and point her finger to the other side!! It happened that she was the assistant manger of the store! She was basically doing nothing and still couldnt even smile!! \t\nFinally as I walking to the silver bridge of the Crime scene to leave this nasty store, I fall off and broke my arm. \t\n\t\nThanks to your managments !!!\t\n ...read more
