Avoid City Base Where to start.....JOEY the sales guy is the true meaning of the place he works for a Conn! We truly feel like he hushed us from the start. He mislead us in think the warranty was included with the 3 it's we purchased from them. WRONG He added into the contract $120 per item we purchased. Apparently to not get charged interested you have to use all of what you got approved for or they charge you interest. Which is highway robbery by the way. She for my 3 items it was almost $3,000 YES $3000 EACH ITEM NO MORE THEN $700. First day go get the Sofa broken! So contact the store manager, send me pictures then I will call you back..She calls back pick up another Sofa. Next day dresser gets delivered it's too BROKEN! So, Day 3 they bring another dresser to our surprise BROKEN! SO, forward to a year later Love Seat BROKEN!!! They have poor quality furniture. I would NEVER RECOMMEND CONN'S to anyone. Placed an online order on 9/7. No reply until I sent a followup email on 9/15 only to be informed the item was back-ordered and they expected a shipment in the next 5 business days. Authorized the purchase on 9/16 based on this expectation only to see 5 days come and go AGAIN with no response/update. Sent a followup email on 9/29 and have not heard anything from anyone! It's been nearly 4 weeks and I just contacted my credit card company to start dispute proceedings. Is THIS what you call customer service? This shop also runs a business on ebay. Contacted them concerning a listing for replacement motherboard capacitors. In the pictures on auction listings they show high quality Japanese low ESR caps for the items, but when I asked to confirm what brand the caps were, they stated they were junk capacitors from Luminous Town. When I said no thanks and explained why, the seller got snippy and disputed my reasoning. During further replies with the seller representing this shops ebay business, they went off on a wild tangent accusing me of being a Democrat, like my political preference even mattered, and also jobless, and a insinuated I was a drunk on welfare. When called out on all this mess and informed I knew of their shops location, and the possible name of the business owner, they tried to distance their-selves suddenly from the shop completely, acting like I had no idea what I was talking about, even though the ebay part of their store is linked to directly from their stores website, which is partly how I found out about them. My daughter used to work at dignity so I would go by the home several times a week to drop things off for her. The home was always clean and the staff was friendly. I know that my daughter treated the residents like they were her own grandparents (whom she loved dearly) and the other staff did as well. I took my laptop to MacTLC because it was not turning on. They diagnosed as needing a new hard drive, so I agreed and they put one in for me. It cost $175, which I was happy to pay to have my Mac back. They were also able to recover most of my data, which was great. However, when I got my laptop back I was missing several applications that are standard on any Mac and a very important print utility setup that is needed to install printers. When I called and told them this they said they would have to look at it and it would cost at least $75. The things missing are standard, they should have been there when I turned my computer on and I don't feel that I should have to pay them more money to fix something that shouldn't have been broken. Also, about 3 days after getting my computer back the application and documents all disappeared. I can no longer access anything on my computer and I had to buy a new one. So either MacTLC messed up my computer or they misdiagnosed it, either way I will never use them again and would not ever recommend them to any friends. ...read more
