Mister Car Wash

1.0

By Nathan Marquez

I'm writing this review in regards to a visit I made to the Upper Kirby location on 1/14/16. During my visit I purchased an upgraded detailing for my car but to my dismay received a cut in my passenger seat during the cleaning process. I addressed the accident with management and was assured that it would be taken care of by a facility called Texas Auto Trim. In order to take care of a problem created by Mister Car Wash, I took time off work to visit the facility last month and have yet to hear back from them in regards to the repair so I am still sitting here with a slash in my seat waiting for a repair that I am taking time out of my day to deal with. Overall I am very disappointed to the reaction of management on this issue and especially disappointed to the timeliness of this getting taken care of. I know accidents happen and am usually very reserved with letting companies deal with issues like this in the manner they want to but the fact that I have to run around town to deal with this and am sitting around twiddling my thumbs a month later still waiting for a resolution frankly disappoints me. First, in regards to the accident, I should have been offered a refund to the detailing as I received way "more than I asked for" and the fact it ended up taking much longer than expected do to the reporting on the incident. Second, the fact that I have to chase your management around and run around town to deal with an accident that your team caused is really inexcusable from a customer service stand point. As a (now ex)subscribing customer to your service, it really disappoints me that I have to use extended avenues to express this issue but I hope that Mister Car Wash can make good of this situation as soon as possible. ...read more

Expert Auto Detailers: Is An Automatic Car Wash Dangerous?

#1 Auto Detailer: Ways That Automatic Car Washes Can Be Dangerous When you take a nice car through an automatic car wash it’s like going to your town’s best steakhouse and ordering well done prime rib. It is a complete waste of your money, and for legitimate and genuine car guys, it is very painful to see since it is damaging for your car. Whenever you wash your car at an automatic car wash, you are running many risks. There is the risk that your car will be potentially damaged or scratched in some way of using this kind of washing method for your car. It is a much smarter and better idea to take your car to a Total Car Detailing service where your car will be handled with care and love by expert detailers. An auto detailer will leave your vehicle looking brand new. There is no way that you can compare car detailing’s the finished product with taking your vehicle through an automatic car wash. Because they save time and hassle, automatic car washes have become very popular. However, despite the convenience that they offer, more harm is done than good to your vehicle by an automatic car wash. That is why you should definitely consider car detailing. The following are ways that automatic car washes are dangerous for your car: 1. They Use Recycled Water Automatic car washes reuse water which means they are the most water-economical and environmentally friendly way to clean your car. Although purification systems may be installed for removing contaminants, they aren’t 100% efficient. That results in dirt and grit scratching your car’s surface as it is washing it. 2. Harsh Cleaning Agents Are Used All businesses aim to maximize their profits by minimizing their expenses. There are some automatic car washes that use cheap cleaning agents with acid as the main ingredient. Although it results in a sparkling clean vehicle, gradually the acid erodes the paint on your car along with its protective wax. Rotating brushes are used by automatic car washes which rub against your car in order to remove dirt. Although it might not be aggressive contact, if you look closely at your car you will see swirls and scratches that will dull your car eventually. 3. Not All Of The Dirt Gets Removed Lack of contact, particularly with touchless automatic car washes, hinders the ability for the vehicles to be entirely cleaned. Trouble spots do not get identified or provided with the attention that they need when an automatic system is used for cleaning your vehicle. Accumulated dirt means that the car will end up with a dismal appearance over time. 4. Drying Technique Heated air for drying off water is usually not sufficient. When you drive off in a vehicle that isn’t completely dry lingering streaks and spots are generated. If they are not cleaned immediately using a spray cleaner, over the long-term intensive polishing will be required. Whenever you make the wise choice of hiring an auto detailer to take care of your exterior car detailing needs, you are left with a beautiful car that looks brand new and zero damages. Total Car Detailingoffers interior car detailing services that you might want to consider in order to avoid any damages to your car from an automatic car wash. 5. Hand Dry Option Although heated air is used by most automatic car washes for drying excess water off, some do have attendants who will hand wipe your vehicle after it has been cleaned. That is fine as long as they use clean and soft towels, which isn’t the case at most car washes. When dirty and abrasive towels are used from drying multiple vehicles with the same towel, it will scratch and mar the paint job on your car. Keeping your car well-maintained with a great looking finish will translate into it having a higher resale value. Although in the short term an automatic car wash might make your vehicle look okay, using them continuously can result in an unsightly and scratched car over the long term. How Often Should You Detail Your Car?

Mobile Detailing: When Should I Get My Car Detailed? The experts at Total Car Detailing have been recognized as the #1 auto detailers in the nation, as a result, we are constantly asked many questions about mobile detailing. One of the most common questions that many car owners ask is “when is the best time of year is to have their vehicle detailed?” It is recommended that your car gets mobile detailing on a regular basis, every four months ideally. There are a number of reasons for that. First of all, most waxes that are applied have an average lifespan of 3 to 4 months. After that, the wax will be depleted and external elements can damage your paint job. Second of all, contaminants, insects, and pollen can lodge on the surface of your car and damage it. For drivers who love to take their vehicles through an automated car wash, they run the risk of the external paint getting damaged. The towels and brushes that are used at an automatic car wash may result in minor scratches in the paint or swirls. However, due to economic constraints, and severity of seasons and all of the benefits that the mobile detailing process provides, Total Car Detailing recommends that clients get car detailing throughout the year specifically during the summer and the fall. Mobile Detail In The Summer For many people, summer is their busiest season. Many car owners do a lot of touring, sporting activities, and go on vacation during this time. Summer isn’t a welcoming season for cars since they get plenty of wear and tear on their interiors due to coffee and food spills as well as other types of stains. The exterior of the car also is subject to many impurities like acid rain, bug splats, tree sap, and bird droppings. The harsh UV rays of the summer are also quite detrimental to the paint quality of your car. The rays of the sun can fade the color of the paint on your car. The nice thing about the summer season is that it provides more sunlight to enjoy. Unless you re-use a high-quality paste, if your wax your car in the summer, it enables the wax to dry before it has the chance to protect your vehicle. Interior Car Detailing– It is highly recommended that you use only UV protective products for draping the interior of your car to prevent fading and cracking from occurring due to the sun. Exterior Car Detailing – All of your exterior windows should be detailed by applying wax or paint sealant to allow for a faster and safer drive when it is raining. Mobile Detailing During The Fall In order to avoid the harsh effects of winter, it is recommended that you have your car detailed in the fall or at least before the winter season hits to protect your car against early frost. Winter usually involves salty conditions which can result in rust developing, the clear finish being damage, and the mechanics of the vehicle being affected. Since fall temperatures tend to be moderate, a car owner can take advantage of these conditions to provide their car with extra protection during this time. Once winter has hit, your car will have already received the proper protection and will be prepared for the cold and harsh season. Visit our blog for more related content.
