Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men

It is a common misconception that women are the only ones who needhormone replacementas they age. However, more research is coming out showing that men too can benefit from receiving hormone replacement therapy.Manymenare led to believe by their physicians that feeling constantly tired, having the inability to gain muscle mass and lose fat, decreased libido and foggy thinking is all a part of growing older. Accepting these symptoms as a part of aging can negatively impact your ability to perform at work, relationship with friends and family and most importantly, how you enjoy your life. You’d be amazed at how impactful hormones and hormone therapy are to your well being. And when they’re out of balance, so is everything else in your life.Everymanexperiences a gradual decline in hormone production as he gets older. Beginning at age 30, his body starts to manufacture less and less testosterone, losing roughly one to three percent per year. Then, sometime between 40 and 55, testosterone levels drop dramatically and signal the onset of andropause, the medical term for the male equivalent of menopause. After this happens, a man finds himself deficient in sexual desire, gaining weight, losing muscle mass and not feeling motivated, depressed and moody. Most men who don’t have hormone replacement therapy believe they have to live through these symptoms as part of “aging.”In recent years, hormonal needs formenhave received national media attention. The only hormone replacement therapy options available in Texas, however, have been marginal at best. Most are expensive, require daily consumption and in many cases, needs to be in sync with their partner’s desire for sexual activity.Unlike other hormone therapies,The Skin Clinic, Inc.and SottoPelle works in partnership with your body day and night. Pellet therapy provides a steady, low dose of natural hormone that flows straight into the blood stream whenever your body needs it.For more information on Hormone Replace Therapy fromThe Skin Clinic, Inc, LIKE ourFacebookpage! ...read more

History of Pellet Hormone Replacement Therapy

In 1935, hormone pellet therapy was created in Europe to help alleviate the problems women experienced due to hormone production cessation or menopause. This modality was then brought to the United States in 1939 by Dr. R. B. Greenblatt. He introduced it to the Menopausal Clinic, where it is used today more than half a century after its introduction. Since then, Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy in pellet form has been positively researched and accepted as the most effective delivery system available for men and women suffering from the side effects of menopause or andropause (male equivalent of menopause). When the body is in need of estrogen or testosterone, these tiny implants, placed under the skin, are found to consistently release small, physiologic doses of hormones providing optimal therapy. For decades, these positive research studies have been reported in respected medical journals around the world. In 1992, Gino Tutera, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. foundedSottopellebased on his unique approach to hormone pellet therapy in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. After many years of experience as a specialist in treating PMS, menopause and hormonal imbalance, he developed his highly effective treatment. This hormone therapy is based on giving the right kind of hormone (biologically identical), in the right amounts (based on proper testing and accurate analysis of the results), using the right delivery system (pellets). His efforts continue to change the lives of thousands of men and women across the United States who suffer from hormone deficiencies. Balance is vital when it comes tohormone replacement therapy. This estrogen ratio, in addition to a proper level of bio-identical testosterone, is what returns a woman’s body to its normal hormonally balanced physiology. How Microdermabrasion Works

Microdermabrasionis a  cosmetic procedure in which all or part of the stratum corneum is removed by light abrasion, used to improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin, treat hyperpigmentation, and reduce or remove scars. This technique uses a mechanical medium for exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis. It is a non-invasive procedure that uses adjustable suction to improve the efficacy of the abrasion tool.Dermabrasion is generally used to refer to a surgical procedure that abrades away the top layers of the skin. The term microdermabrasion generally refers to a non-surgical procedure that abrades less deeply than dermabrasion. Although the mechanism of the two procedures is similar, the difference in the depth of the abrasion results in different recovery times. Dermabrasion recovery time may take as much as several weeks to several months whereas microdermabrasion recovery time may be as little as one to two days.Microdermabrasion may be performed to decrease the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation, photo-damage, diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and shallow acne scars. Removing the dead skin will aid in the penetration of skin care products by up to 50% and makeup will go on much more smoothly.According toDiscovery Health, the idea is that if you remove or break up the stratum corneum, the body interprets that as a mild injury and rushes to replace the lost skin cells with new and healthy ones. In the first hour after treatment, this causes mild edema (swelling) and erythema (redness). Depending on the individual, these side effects can last anywhere from an hour to two days. This process has a few beneficial effects. With the stratum corneum gone, the skin’s surface is improved. The healing process brings with it newer skin cells that look and feel smoother. Some of the skin’s visible imperfections, like sun damage, blemishes and fine lines, are removed. Also, without the stratum corneum acting as a barrier, medicinal creams and lotions are more effective because more of their active ingredients and moisture can find their way down to the lower layers of skin. As microdermabrasion temporarily removes some moisture from the skin, it is always followed by the application of moisturizing creams.Early studies suggest that repeated microdermabrasion treatment at regular intervals may influence the way the lower layers of skin grow, as well, removing deeper blemishes over time. Some evidence seems to indicate that the rapid loss of skin moisture may be what triggers the lower skin layers to work overtime in speeding healthy cells up to the surface.Amedical microdermabrasionis more superficial than ordinary dermabrasion and can be performed in less than an hour. The person may resume ordinary daily activities immediately afterward. Microdermabrasion works best for superficial lesions such as fine lines and age spots; deeper lesions require other treatments. For more information aboutThe Skin Clinic, Inc., see ourFacebookpage! ...read more

BOTOX Cosmetic

BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in all adults for a short period of time. BOTOX® is a trade name for Botulinum Toxin A. According toDiscovery Health, Botox Cosmetic has been successfully used to treat severe glabellar (frown) lines and is approved for use in adult patients up to 65 years of age. Also a form of botulinum toxin type A, when Botox Cosmetic is injected into the muscles surrounding the brow area for instance, those muscles can not “scrunch up” for a period of time. They’re paralyzed, so the wrinkles in that area, often referred to as furrows or frown lines, temporarily go away. BOTOXCosmetic is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows. Discover the proven results that 11 million women and men have experienced atThe Skin Clinic, Inc.With real, noticeable results, no surgery and no recovery time, there are many reasons why BOTOX Cosmetic has been chosen by millions of women and their doctors. Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy using the pellet method has changed the manner of how women age. In the past, women died more frequently in childbirth, PMS was an imaginary problem, and menopause, with all of its age related infirmities, was just another stage of life to be endured and lived with. Today, we know that we don’t have to accept hormonal imbalance as a grim reality. Natural hormone replacement therapy has helped improve not only the quality of our lives, but also how long we live them. Some doctors continue to say that women should stop whining and embrace our menopausal woes, but why should we when the remedy is as simple as replacing missing hormones? Estrogen – Bio Identical Hormone Replacement TherapyEstrogen is a woman’s most important hormone. Without hormone replacement therapy, the loss of estrogen puts her at increased risk for premature ovary failure, osteoporosis, heart disease, colon cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, tooth loss, impaired vision, Parkinson’s disease and diabetes. The longer a woman is without the protection of her own estrogen, the greater the risk for serious health consequences of these conditions. There are estrogen receptors in a variety of organs throughout the body and brain. That’s why hormonal imbalance produces different symptoms such as loss of skin elasticity, bone shrinkage, mood and cognitive decline. On the other hand, when estrogen levels rise as they do in the first week of menses, their overall effect is to increase the amount of serotonin available in the spaces between the brain’s nerve cells. That improves mood. Within the brain, estrogen may in fact act as a natural antidepressant and mood stabilizer. It is therefore essential that a woman suffering from premature ovary failure or surgical menopause receive treatment from a HRT physician who understands the many ramifications of the disease and is willing and able to meet her endocrine and emotional needs. Testosterone – Bio Identical Hormone Replacement TherapyTestosterone hormone therapy gives a woman her mental clarity, libido and muscle tone and mass. When this hormone is at low levels, women often complain of mental confusion, weight gain and poor muscle growth even with regular exercise. The effect of hormone deficiency on the brain, muscle, bone, heart and metabolism can be significant without hormone replacement therapy for women and dangerous to long term health. The brain needs normal amounts of testosterone in balance with estrogen to produce serotonin, which supports emotional balance. When lacking in these hormones, a woman will experience emotional instability that often results in increased anxiety, irritability, sleep disturbances, anger, sadness and depression. The musculoskeletal system is also adversely affected by the loss of testosterone. By not having bio-identical hormone therapy the deficiency or imbalance of testosterone can lead to muscle atrophy, osteopenia, osteoporosis and pain in the muscles and joints. Laser Tattoo Removal

The Skin Clinic, Inc. provides effective treatments for dark tattoo inks. With the overwhelming popularity of tattoos over the last ten years, the market for effective removal has exploded. Tattoos are created by injecting colored pigment into small deep holes made in the skin. Regardless of whether a tattoo artist or an untrained individual injects the pigment, the marks or designs are relatively permanent. When people subsequently want their tattoos removed, most physicians today consider laser surgery one of the best methods.Duringtreatment, pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo, breaking up the tattoo pigment. Over the next several weeks the body’s macrophages remove the treated pigmented areas. We can effectively treat dark tattoo inks, specifically black (which accounts for more than half of all tattoos), blue and green.Tattoo ink and natural pigmentation like melanin absorb short pulse duration/high peak energy Q-switched pulses so quickly that they create a photo-acoustic effect within the pigment clusters. This effect breaks down the ink into much smaller particles that can be more easily removed by the body’s natural filtering system. It is recommended that patients should expect to come back for several treatments to achieve expected results. The Skin Clinic, Inc.provides a safe way to remove unwanted, dark ink tattoos with dramatic results after treatment! Hormone Replacesment Therapy

One of the latest, most advanced treatment in the medical/skin field is Hormone Replacement Therapy. In short, it is a treatment for when you age and your body starts slowing down and producing certain hormones – for both men and women. Here is a deeper look at the history and what it can do for you! History and Research on Pellet Hormone Replacement TherapyIn 1935, hormone pellet therapy was created in Europe to help alleviate the problems women experienced due to hormone production cessation or menopause. In addition, human identical hormones have long been preferred in Japan, France and other European countries. Many women and men in this country and others have now switched from synthetic to bio-identical hormone therapy.Without hormone replacement therapy, menopause and andropause are inevitable. As you age, your body generates lower and lower levels of important hormones. Without its formerly healthy levels of hormones, your body becomes more vulnerable to age related diseases like osteoporosis, heart disease, cardiovascular disease and other debilitating ailments. Not to mention disturbing symptoms like hot flashes, memory lapses, sexual dysfunction, lack of sleep, depression, fatigue and so forth are also present. It makes you yearn for times past and we can give that feeling again with natural hormone replacement therapy. Symptom Free with Hormone Pellet TherapyNow envision a new you hormonally balanced. You’re feeling vibrant, energetic and even sexy again. You sleep better, your headaches are gone and so is your grumpy attitude. Everyone around you notices that you seem more positive, more like your old self. Our bio-identical hormone pellet therapy can return you to hormonal balance, well-being and the physiologic state of your thirties. Pellet therapy uses hormones derived from natural plant sources to replicate the body’s normal hormonal levels. Patients have found that bio-identical hormone replacement therapy with pellet implants is extremely effective. Implants, placed under the skin, consistently release small, physiologic doses of hormones providing optimal therapy. Fried Hair?

After color treatments, blow-drying and curling our hair has taken a beating. It is frizzy, split on the ends and hard to deal with. How do we get rid of the fried hair and, calm down our locks before our next appointment with ourstylist? Don't worry, you don't have to stop the highlights, low-lights, or the bleach and dye. What you will need to do is put a little more work into your hair each day. What is happening to your hair is very simple. Your hair is getting completely dried out from all of the heat styling and chemicals being put into it. We need to jumpstart your hair and give it back some of it's natural moisture.Try to wash and towel-dry your hair or let it air-dry at night time. Don't blow dry it. If you use a glossing or styling cream on your hair, apply it while your hair is still damp and use a brush or comb to distribute the product. In the morning, apply a heat protector on your hair before you turn on any styling tools then, style away! As time goes on, many people will find their hair easier to style using this method. If you really need a boost for the dry hair, make an appointment for a conditioning treatment. Don't get anything else on the hair but that treatment. Find out what products yourstylistrecommends for you to use. In specific, get a recommendation for a good glossing or styling cream and, a good heat protector. By the time you are ready for your next service at the salon, you will have a routine to keep your hair "just out of the salon" soft and smooth.   Alisa Merritt Creative Director, Owner NV Salon&Spa ...read more

if you go to this salon....do not utilize the services of "Rebecca". i went into the salon (MY "FIRST TIME") wanting a change in my hair color and a shorter style. Rebecca said that she wanted to do a "swing" haircut and had an ideal "caramel" color in mind.....as i wanted to get back closer to my "original" (away from blonde) color. During the time I spent with Rebecca ....She asked (more than once) how I wanted the hair on the side..I told her I wanted it to COVER my ears as I wear Chandelier earrings.....She instead cut my hair ABOVE my ears while the whole time bragging about being a "Perfectionist"... 3 hours and 3 color mixing bowls later.....She literally "butchered" the hair to a length that is unacceptable and definitely not a "swing". if i wanted a "butcher" job i could have gone to those "cheaper" chain salons and paid a $100.00 (or more) less than what i was charged by Rebecca for her work and my "waste" of time. ...read more
