How to Work for a Day Spa

Working for a day spa may require an employee to have multiple skills in order to succeed. A day spa that offers a variety of services will need employees who can handle several different tasks or responsibilities. Employees who are consistent performers will likely be candidates for advancement within the company.

  1. Look in the phonebook to find a list of day spas in your city. Make a list of the spas you want to contact, then call the first one on your list and ask if they are currently considering new applications for work. Stop by the spa to pick up an employment application or ask to receive one in the mail.

  2. Call other day spas on your list if you want to apply at multiple places. Once you have all of the employment applications, complete each one and attach a copy of your resume. Return all of the applications and find out how long it may take to hear back. Make a note on your calendar to keep track of when each spa may call.

  3. Interview with a spa if you receive a call back. Ask questions during the interview and be attentive. If you receive an offer of employment, consider it carefully before you accept. You could still get a call back from another day spa that may make you a better offer after you finish an interview.

  4. Accept the offer from the day spa you choose and find out when your first day is. Show up early and take notes throughout the day. Ask the spa owner if there is any extra training you can do on your own to show that you are willing to do whatever it takes to learn the job.

  5. Maintain a positive attitude while you are working and always try to exceed the day spa owner’s expectations. You may become one of the spa’s employees who is in line for a promotion as your career progresses. You also will always have a solid reference on your resume which may help you in the future.
