The repair person came out in a timely manner to look at my heater that had stopped working during the night. He looks at it and tells me that he would need to replace some wires (obviously the ones that were burnt) and some parts. He was not specific. He went to his truck to prepare an estimate. After a short amount of time he comes back in without a written estimate and tells me that the cost will be $600 and that is just to fix what is visible and it may not make the unit work. Why would you give me an estimate of less than what it will take to make the unit work? It was 20 degrees outside. The gentleman then proceeded to tell me that my unit was 10 years old and I should probably just consider replacing it instead of paying for repairs that may not work. I did not accept the estimate. I told the gentleman that I would need to research my options. I called someone I work with to ask if I was getting a fair quote. I thought he was going to choke. He came out and fixed my heater for $30 in parts. That's right. $30 in parts and the service person was going to charge me $600. I called the office to speak to a manager and was told by a very nice lady that he would call me back before the end of the day. I have yet to hear from Mr. Hale. Since yesterday, I've heard many stories of Donelsson Service Experts giving people the shaft. They really should change their name. They are not experts in service. I would have given them negative stars if I could have. This company is bad news. ...read more

I signed up for a years "service" from DAC...it's $12/month, and honestly, I have no clue what my money is going to. A guy came out about 6 months ago and told me I should replace my blower motor. He told me it would cost about $700. I told him at the time I couldn't afford to pay it, but I would think about it. A few months later, my blower did go out. I went to a AC parts store and found the part I needed replacing was only $100 plus tax. I took it home, 30 minutes later I had replaced the part. So are you telling me they charge $600/hr for service? Pretty crummy. Now I'm trying to call them and it just rings and rings. Be careful when you use them, cause you might be paying WAY more than you should. ...read more

I have used Donelson Heating and Air for several years now, for three different properties. Just had to use them again today1/2/10. They were very prompt in their service call. I am having them install a new unit this time and was really surprise that they are coming out the next day on 1/3/10 to install the unit. This is an awesome company and I would recommend them to anyone, I would put them above the rest on their service, helping to save you money, being speedy on getting someone out to help you, taking pride in their work. Thanks for all you do DONELSON HEATING AND AIR. I will forever be a costumer to you guys, as you guys are honest and reliable. ...read more

I have been a DAC customer for over a decade and have been satified everytime. They installed AC in our first starter home and it was an excellent system and great price. Now, our other "new" home has had AC and heating problems...apparently our Builder gave us sub par equipment. But DAC again installed an excellent AC unit. The Engineer they sent was amazing..I LOVE DAC! ...read more

I made an appointment with them and they never showed up. They never called to explain why they didn't show up. I called the next day and they said that it was a computer error. Thankfully for me I'm already a stay at home parent so I wasn't out money from taking off of work, but it was an inconvenience to sit at home all day waiting. I'm definitely looking for another company. I'm actually kind of glad they didn't show up after reading the reviews. ...read more

This is a horrible company that is only looking out for their own interests. Management sits in a room everyday, when they aren't drinking, doing drugs, golfing or having affairs, trying to figure out how to keep their customers now that most of them have realized what blood-sucking lowlifes they are. They will actually sit in there and plot how to rip all of the hard working people off as bad as the economy is. Thank God word is out and people have realized the other companies that are better priced and better quality of people with moral values. Not to mention they only fire women because they are very male chauvanistic and target the female customers as well to rip them off. ...read more

Don't do business with this company. They came out for a routine service, told my wife that we needed to replace our HVAC system for $10,000 - it was working fine - and told her to avoid using the AC because of a supposed electrical hazard. She said she wanted to get a second opinion. When I returned home, the system was not working, the thermostat was dead, and it appeared that water had been poured into the furnace. It took $1,000 worth of work (from another company) to repair the damage. Needless to say, Donelson did not perform the routine maintenance they were supposed to perform under the service contract. ...read more

After reading the first review, I think it's funny that I just recieved the same diagnostic for my system. They quoted me a new compressor for $1600 or a new unit for $5000. Seems they only offer two options. ...read more

Dale and Associates, Inc are the best overall Planners and Engineers in Nashville. I had a piece of land that needed to be rezoned and designed, I was told by others that it could not be done. Dale and Assocociates took me through the entire process by first having community meetings to get the support of the neighbors and then they got the support of the Planning Commission and the Metro Council. Their final design was cost effective for me, created value, and gave something back to the community thru a dedicated park and open space. Dale and Associates knows how to work with people and get positive results that benefit everyone. ...read more

One of my air conditioners went down this time last year and one part of the house was unusable through the summer. I was told that they could repair the unit for $1800 or replace it for $5000. At the time I couldn't really afford either so it sat inoperable. Before I go and spend that kind of money I had a company called J&J mechanical come out to give an estimate as well. They determined in just 5 minutes that the only problem was the fan on the unit needed to be replaced. $300 installed! I would have done that LAST YEAR!!! Instead Donelson AC thought they would try to pull on over on me or they simply don't understand how to inspect and repair a slightly used Train unit. Either way I cannot justify ever calling them again and I think everyone else should know that they put more weight in hiring a good salesman than a good repair man. ...read more

Dale and Associates is not recommended -- if you want to get your project done right and have neighborhoods on your side. They do not "work well with others" . Dale, a former council person comes out "arrogant", talking down to community, Dale has designed "flawed and tilted sidewalks" and excused it saying "Metro let's unapproved sidewalks go in all the time. So, we did it too." Dale designed flawed storm water systems into neighborhoods. When asked why? Dale blamed the developer: "We designed it right but the developer did not follow our design." Then he admit the flaw was his "Correcting our design flaw would be worse than leaving it." I recommend you trying a neighborhood friendly developer who talks straight talk to the community. ...read more
