Towing Company Issues in 2009 & Ahead

Everyone has heard that the economy is suffering and that we are in a recession. So moving forward with day to day business in the current conditions has been tough. We have seen many of the towing companies we insure looking for different avenues to make money. Many of them calling in to ask about repossession coverages, garage insurance, raising limits to get on rotation list or to acquire different contracts. The repossession industry was doing well and we are still seeing request for it. However, a multitude of factors have impacted it as well. From the bank and finance companies extending missed payments and car auctions turning into parking lots due to nobody buying a car. It has been a rollercoaster for the towers large and small. Many have manage to not only survive, but to thrive by thinking out of the box and adding services to meet niche demands. We have noticed a trend lately that we hope continues as things seem to finally be turning. As long as fuel remains reasonable (although it is still higher than it should be) and more people return to driving for work and pleasure the better off the towing companies will be. I can say that from an insurance cost standpoint we have seen some of the best pricing ever, so if you are still looking for ways to reduce cost this is a big way to do so. Please feel free to contact me or any of our agents to discuss your insurance needs. We can help in all states.   Thank you,  Benji Jordan President Trucking&Transportation; Division Jordan&McCallum Insurance www.filingsinsurance.com www.towingandrecoveryinsurance.com 800-365-6787 Ext:202 Fax:800-726-6787 ...read more
