This morning I spoke to Megan, the internet sales specialist, on an XLE Accord. She discussed pricing with Michael, the owner's son and sales manager. He returned with a firm price of $25,600 on a 2016 Honda Accord XLE - 4 cyl, and a 2015 XLE - 6 cyls. I met him in early afternoon. Angelo showed me the 2015 and a white 2016. He stated several times that the only issue for my sister was to pick a color, and the price would be honored. We arrived at 6:15 PM. My sister drove the white 2016, I asked if the cost of the car we drove was $25,600 to which he said each time, "Yes absolutely! You were with me when Michael detailed the cost of the car. It's yours for that price," but returned saying that there would be an added cost of $775. Angelo was as surprised as us. I asked Michael to honor the price. He laughed and refused. I strongly recommend to stay. When my sister wanted to buy it per the quote the cost jumped by nearly $1000. ...read more

I rode at Newport Equestrian for about 8 months (still ride there now) and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Some of these reviews talk about false advertising. Not true. If you didn't know, Middletown beaches are open to horses from September 30 to May 1. In the Summer the horses aren't ALLOWED on the beach. Anyways, I love this place so much and the horses are cared for very well. They are trained very well also. And what wrong with a ride on the road? Everyone complains about riding on the road but if you didn't want to walk on the road then you shouldn't have done it. Also I've seen complaints about just walking. Do you want to trot, canter or even gallop? Horse back riding isn't easy at all. The staff is only walking because we want to keep everyone safe. All in all, I absolutely LOVE Newport Equestrian Academy. Would never ride somewhere else. ...read more

Young Men More Prone to Get Distracted While Driving

A new study has found that young men are more likely to be distracted while driving than young women. An NPR news report states, that while almost anyone can get distracted behind the wheel, some are more prone to do so than others. This study, published by a researcher at Norway’s Institute of Transport Economics, sheds some light on one of the leading causes of Rhode Island car accident lawsuits. What Did the Study Find? The study examines the driving habits and personalities of hundreds of high school students and young adults. Some admitted that distracted driving was an issue for them. The study uncovered a few patterns about who was more likely to be distracted behind the wheel. It found that young men were not only the most prone to being distracted by phones, but also by other activities such as people talking in the car or fiddling with radio controls. The study delved into the psychology of these drivers, finding that those who were the most distracted were frequent drivers who had neurotic and extroverted personalities. Researchers also found that those who felt that distracted driving was socially acceptable or didn’t feel they could control distractions were more likely to report distracted driving. Older women who felt they could get a handle on their behaviors were least likely to drive while distracted, the study found. What Is The Solution To This Problem? The study’s authors suggest interventions such as giving drivers a quiz of sorts that gets them thinking about distracted driving. This study is the first of its kind to look at the links between intentions and behavior when it comes to distracted driving.
