The most eclectic cross-section of State Collegians, both "Townie" and "Campus", gather at Webster's, or pass through to get a lovely "cuppa to go" on their way to do good in our community. Today I stopped in with just a few dollars to purchase a few tiny books for stocking stuffers and a small gift for a new Best Friend. In just 20 minutes, I smelled wonderful coffees and chai teas, muffins and sandwiches, saw an old Library friend behind the book counter (20 years since seeing each other!), overheard a thoughtful interview of a gutsy Mayoral candidate whom I would support if I were a State College Borough resident, saw my favorite Boalsburg author's book "Going Local" (by Ken Hull) for sale by the counter, exchanged pleasantries with the water deliveryman as I was moved to hold the door for him, and exchanged cogent remarks with the fellow ahead of me in line, regarding pretzels and sunglasses in cloudy State College, PA.
