Chapline Computers

By Hanson Web Design

I'm a first-time customer of Chapline Computers and couldn't recommend them more highly. I have a Dell desktop computer that just wouldn't turn on one day.I first called a office supply store down the street who told me that it would take 2-3 days to diagnose the problem which seemed reasonable to me. Then I gave Chapline computers a call. He also told me it would probably be 2-3 days. However he was able to give me a probable diagnosis over the phone with a corresponding cost estimate (under $100). I decided to drop the computer off at Chapline. Instead of the 2-3 day wait I was expecting, he asked me if I had a few minutes, proceeded to take the computer apart and replace the power supply and send me home with a repaired computer 15 minutes later - all for less than $100! As I earn my living using this computer every day, I was extremely happy with this good old-fashioned, excellent customer service. Although I'm sure they can't offer that sort of turnaround time (or price) on most repair jobs I will nevertheless be using them for all my computer repair needs in the future. ...read more

I stopped in on a saturday with a injured laptop. They looked at it, said they could fix it but needed to order a part and it would be here by Tuesday . I gave $50 for the part, Tuesday arrived and they stated the part isn't here and could be delayed. Wednesday arrived and they left me a message saying they are canceling the order for the part and I could order it on my own faster. I called back asking them to credit my card back and they refused stating "they don't work for free" and " they spent time ordering the part". A reputable company would be apologizing to me, instead this mom and pop operation has decided to fraudulently keep my $50. They've never had possession of my system, I was in the store for 15 minutes. I like to patronize small businesses, I had actually planned to buy 2 of their used computers as Xmas gifts. I disputed the charge with my bank and was refunded the money but just the idea that they would try to scam me out of $50 is disgraceful. ...read more

I would not recommend their services to my worst enemy. Don't take my word for it, check out their "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Their customer service skills are non-existent. Their advertising and contracts are dubious and if you have any problems with their service they will blame you for it. See more detailed reviews on yelp, yellow pages, and citysearch, then go to a BBB certified service for your recovery needs. Skip this business all together. You have been warned!!! ...read more

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Go to Bundy's! I partly blame myself for the experience, because if I had looked them up through the Better Business Bureau, I would have seen that they have a "F" rating with three complaints filed against them. One which is still unresolved. My experience goes this way. I was lured in by their website which at the time had a lower rate for the hardware that I needed recovery from. When I called them on it, they told me that my hardware was not from that category, but that they would do it anyway for the price listed on their website. When I get to their office, I fill out a standard permission form, which basically states that once they diagnose and recover your information, you accept your obligation to pay. No where on that document, does it say, you have seven days from their recovery to pay in full before they delete all your information. The only mention of a timeline is 30 days, where they will keep your property for that length of time before they destroy it. The day after I dropped my hardware off for recovery, I get an email from them saying that they were able to recover the information and I had seven days to pay or they would delete everything. They also added another $65 to the charge and had required me to purchase additional hardware. This was all understandable but unexpected, and I was willing to pay the majority to keep my account in good standing. However, I was told that they would only do the amount in full or destroy my information in 7 days, which financially I could not do. When I tried to speak with the owner, who was very condescending (maybe because I was a woman), he began raising his voice and became very confrontational. At the end, nothing was resolved, and I basically had to turn my world upside down so that these people would not destroy my information. Yes, I could have taken my hard drive to another recovery service after, but you risk more data loss with each handler, and I could not take that risk (and they monetize off that fear). The story does not end there. They give you a 30 day warranty period. When I brought my new drive home with my recovered information, I was able to see all my files and I was happy with that. However, I did not attempt to back-up anything on my Mac computer within that 30 day period. What I found, through calling the hard drive manufacturers and Apple, was that Comp Recovery formatted my hard drive for a PC only, so I was unable back-up to that drive. I emailed them my issue, and as a matter of customer service and their knowing upon my intake, that I was working with a MAC computer, that they should in good conscience, correct the situation. I was informed via email, that they would never make that kind of mistake and that it must have happened in my care. Yes, I with no access to a PC computer somehow managed to format my hard drive to PC?!? Incredible. When I called to speak with the owner, he again became confrontational and refused to fix the issue. He then said that if he did it, he would have to charge. So again, I would have to pay for his mistake, because I did not catch it in 30 days. How about fixing it because it is the right thing to do and because customer service is essential to developing new business and keeping current business? This infuriated me to the point in that I threatened a BBB claim and to let other potential customers know about how they do business. I then, hung up the phone. Seconds later, I get a call back from the owner. When I did not pick up, because I was so distraught from the experience, he emailed me saying that he would correct the problem. I am in the process of fixing the issue myself, and made the choice not to accept his service for my silence. He had the opportunity to correct the problem before being threatened and refused. For his mistake, consider yourselves informed. Buyer Beware. ...read more

I recently became unemployed and have been working hard to find a job. Yesterday morning I went to power up my laptop and the power button caved into the laptop! I took it here and not only did Andrea nicely reassure me that it was likely a fixable problem and that she thought she had the part, but she said she could have it done by 1pm. It was already 10:00 am. She had it done by 1 and it works perfectly. It was really great getting the reassurance that I did as well as the great service. I lost less than half a day in my job hunting. I will take anything they can fix to them whenever it needs something. ...read more

I got the number for these guys from my old neighbor. My Dell Dimension of two years was turning off by itself. I originally called Dell support and they made me restore my computer to the first day I bought it. I reinstalled all my programs, printer drivers and antivirus and the computer did the exact same thing! Four more fruitless calls and about seven hours later to Dell support and they told me I had a bad motherboard or processor and to ship them the machine. I had the IT guy from my wife's work come over and he replaced the ram and video card, it worked for one day and the same thing happened again! I called T&S Computers and they came out the next day. They took the cover off my tower and immediately told me I had a clogged CPU heat sink. They blew out the cat hair & dust with a can of compressed air and vacuumed the inside of the tower. When they turned on my computer I could barely hear it running! The fan was spinning so fast before it sounded like an airplane and it couldn't catch up to cool off the CPU. They did some operating system stuff too and I haven't had a problem since. They even showed me where to vacuum so it won't happen again. They charged me $96.00 for the labor and a can of air. Would have saved me hours with f**cking Dell. Fast service and a decent price. I would use them again in a second. ...read more

Universal Shopping Network - The Best Home Shopping Network

Universal Shopping NetworkOnline shopping is a modern-day convenience. For many to whom shopping is a necessary therapy, the Internet has been a saving grace when it comes to looking for and buying things. It is now a lot easier to browse for items online, do comparison shopping, familiarize one's self with products by reading reviews, copy and paste coupon codes, buy from auctions, and a lot of other shopping behaviors that be. If you haven't tried purchasing from the Web before, you must give it a try. If you are still wondering why, here are some of the advantages of online shopping: 1) You don't have to leave your house at all. It's very stressful and time-consuming to run from one retail or department store to another in pursuit of an elusive item on our shopping lists. But with online shopping, you don't have to exert all that much effort; you can shop at the convenience of your own home, with greater ease in finding a product, and with less time spent, too. Moreover, there's no hurry on the part of the consumer, because the Internet operates on a 24-hours-a-day-seven-days-a-week basis. If you are only out to obtain some information on a product, it's also a lot more practical to simply surf online. 2) Search engines. With the Internet, you can search for any item you want and find it in a matter of seconds. Search engines make it possible to browse through an infinite variety of products and services that are being sold online, regardless of geographical location. With similar tools, online retailersalso offer the convenience of shopping directories, categorized links, thumbnail previews, customer feedback, quick quotations, customized service, and virtual shopping carts. In short, you will find that shelf space on the Internet is jaw-droppingly vast. 3)Shopping onlinenot only saves time and effort; it can also save you money. Let's face it: with the rising cost of fuel these days, do you think it's worth it to travel miles and miles to the mall so you can participate in a season sale? It used to be that to find the best deals, we'd have to scour the whole town or city. Not anymore. Usually, the best shopping dealscan be found on the Internet. Shopping online lets you visit different websites in order to compare prices and make educated purchases. It also makes available a great number of shopping bargains that you wouldn't otherwise find in a mall or garage sale. Moreover, retailers offer online consumers a number of money-saving privileges, such as the use of coupon codes, free shipping and handling offers, personalized packaging, Internet-exclusive discounts and sales, and cash rebates, among many others. 4) There are safe and secure ways to pay for items bought online. Some people may not think so, but there are websites these days that implement powerful encryption procedures to prevent identity theft. After you paste coupon codes, the retailer will usually give you the option of how you're going to pay for your purchase: credit card, PayPal, COD, check, etc. Unlike with traditional shopping, you don't have to manage inconvenient stashes of bills and coupons. ...read more

Tips for saving on money online

Check out these great links for websites that will save you money http://www.swagbucks.com http://www.bigcrumbs.com http://www.bing.com http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?RewardsExtEnroll&CTASignup;=false&ExtLanding=true Many people have no idea these exist. It's very simple, just go to one of these websites, click-through to the site your making a purchase at and you'll typically receive 2-10% credit for that item. If you think about it, it really adds up. Heck, I buy anything from razors, shampoo clothing to computers and cars online. One of the best deals is from bing.com. They give you 25% back on eastbay purchases. Or how about zipzoomfly.com, I recently purchased a $180 power supply for my computer from them for $40. They were advertising a $95 manufacturers rebate along with instant savings, a combo purchase and if you signed up for e-bill me (an online payment service like PayPal), you got an extra 15% off. On ebay, I click through bigcrumbs first to get cashback, and I've signed up for "eBay Bucks". The best thing is all of this is 100% free. ...read more
