I Went Into Paddy Kait With My 2 Year Old This Morning And The Owner Of The Store Told Me Not To Bother Buying Any Thing, She Said "Hold On To What Little Money You Might Have Because It Looks Like You Probably Will Not Get Any More Of It" I Walked Out In Tears, I Am Not Homeless Or Broke By Any Means, After Checking Around It Turns Out Im Not The Only One This Shop Owner Has Been So Rude To, And I Hope To Spare Any One Else The Humiliation I Felt When I Left That Store. We have been customers of Paddy Kait (Wendy Smythe) for the past 6 years. Every summer, we spend at least a few hundred dollars. We were happy with the quality & variety of merchandise. However, this summer (2010) was different. The merchandise was similar & there were interesting new items. However, the owner acted as if her customers were the dirt under her fingernails. We came in 3 times in the last week. The first time, several customers were in the store. In the 15 minutes we were there, the owner didn't stop her phone conversation to attend to us. On the second visit I asked her a question and was given the brush-off---as if I was a silly, silly fool. The thid time was the last straw. A very nice older lady asked the owner (who always remains behind the counter) if she could put her items on the counter while she shopped. The owner acted irritated for the intrusion and grudgingly agreed. NO MORE! We won't support such a rude owner & are spreading the word. ...read more
