How to Make Presents for a Boy

How to Hide Presents

Many people can't stand the anticipation that gift-giving brings. It is common for some people, espescially children, to go looking for their presents before it is time to give them. The gift givers must resort to hiding the presents in order to retain the element of surprise and thus the pleasure of giving.

  • Create decoy presents. Plant some fake presents in a likely place such as a closet or under a bed. The gift-snooper will think that the presents have been found, and they will stop looking. To punish them the tiniest bit for trying to ruin the surprise, make the decoy presents very dull and boring. Good ideas for boring presents are socks, a dictionary and a plain coffee mug.

  • Hide the real presents somewhere the snooper does not go, can't go or will refuse to go. That way, even if they still look after finding the decoy presents, they will not find them!

  • Utilize creepy places that kids don't want to venture into. Such places include attics, basments, shed and crawl spaces. You want a place that keeps the snooper away because it is dark, full of spiders and possibly haunted.

  • Stow the presents in your car trunk, keep the car locked and hide the keys. This hiding technique can work on kids and adults alike. Unless a snooper is willing to commit breaking and entering, your gifts are safe!

  • Keep the presents at your work or place of business until the day they are to be given. It would be hard for a child or spouse to look through your work desk without attracting attention.

  • Ask a trusted neighbor or a family member to hold onto your gifts so that they remain a surprise. Just make sure they won't inadvertantly let the gift receiver find the presents!
