Getting ready to have carpet installed is not as hard as you might think. Many installation providers offer furniture moving for your convenience, and will save you the trouble if you simply dont have time, or have large items that cannot be moved by yourself, or, just dont want to do! The basics to consider.....vacuum your old carpet the day before your new carpet installation to keep dust at a minimum when the removal of old carpet, and pad is being done. Box, and mark all small items so they are quicker to move, as well as easier to get back to the room they were removed from. Unplug all of your electrical items, and mark wires for ease of re connection after installation. Any loose pictures should be either taken down, or reattached firmly to walls, so that vibrations during install do not jar loose. Remove bedding, including pillow covers. Clothing hanging beneath waist level should be removed. Collectible, and breakable items are typically not moved by installation providers, so take care to get those put somewhere safe prior to installation day. Thats it! It may seem overwhelming at first, but if you simply start in one room, and work your way around, you will find, it is not as difficult, or time consuming as you would have thought!
