Jorgensen's Raw Goat Milk & Soaps
By Misty January 03, 2012
Due to being in-between seasons, I was looking for a new raw goat milk provider for my family. An inquiry was forwarded on to Karen Jorgensen, and we were so blessed by her willingness to provide us with such a quality product! We have frozen the milk to thaw and use later and we've also used it fresh - either way, the quality is outstanding! The milk is thick and creamy and has a great fat content - there is just no comparison to store-bought, processed milk. Thank you, Karen! We'll be contacting you soon to replenish our stash of milk...everyone just keeps drinking/using it! :) ...read more

My family loves the goat milk! It is always fresh and delicious. My one year old does not like store bought cows milk, but will drink as much of Karen's goat milk as I will give him. Karen is also very accommodating and is always willing to meet me in town when I can't make it out to her home. ...read more

Pasture fed milking goats
There are more flavor variances when switching from grain fed to strictly grass fed. Whatever the goats eat an hour or two before they are milked, shows up in the milk. If they eat something objectionable right before milking time, like onions or garlic it will show up for a day, but it passes out of their system quickly. Too much minerals eaten can also give the milk an off taste, not bad, just different. So my advise is don't be too hasty to change your supplier if the milk is usually excellent, because the offending flavor will pass. Just let your supplier know so that she can find the culprit. ...read more

Unnatural additives added to store bought milk
Did you know that man-made calcium and Vitamin D are added to commercial milk? In some people these unnatural additives can make them seriously sick! Why buy pasteurized milk? You are getting all of the calories without any nutrients whatsoever. You might as well drink flavored water! Raw milk has all the vitamins, minerals and enzymes still in the milk, so you are getting a big bang for your buck. ...read more

Did you ever wonder what homogenization is? Read my blog and learn!
Homogenization is more dangerous than pasteurization. The process of homogenization actually spins the milk at a very high rate breaking down the clusters of molecules within the milk so that you don't have any separation of the cream and the milk. Therefore the milk will not spoil within a few days; it can actually last a few weeks before going bad. The clusters of molecules are so small that when you ingest them they virtually scar your arteries. They clog up your digestive system, making it very difficult to digest food, which is one of the major causes of acid reflux disease, obesity, allergies, and constipation. And the scaring of the arteries causes the LDL cholesterol to attach itself to the artery, (arteriosclerosis), which is one of the major causes of heart disease. Homogenized dairy products, whether they are yogurt, milk, or cheese, are all deadly. It is not the fat that is the problem in dairy, it's the homogenization process. ...read more
