Tire Station

Had my care there for a transmission install and when I got my car back it was not right. Mechanic did not put car back together completely because the axels or something was making noises it did not make before. Was also making a scraping noise on the rotor's. Took car back to them because it did not do that before plus had a service light on. Found out at Auto Zone across the street from them it was something with the ABS and the transmission. When mechanic started repair he did not know which transmission was the right one for the car. Should have been a big red flag. The place where I bought the transmission had to take up 2 more transmissions for him to see which one was right. When he looked at what the scraping noise was he said the axels were bad and that they were bad before the transmission went out which was false. So they wanted me to pay for new ones even though he put them back in wrong. So when they put them in he found a transmission mount bad which should have been discovered when putting the transmission back in. I believe he broke it and an engine mount. When I got the car back it was worse than when I had taken it back. It had a nasty vibration that did not exist 2 days earlier. The mechanic claimed the intake shafts were bent inside the transmission which he would have seen and known before installing it. The place where I bought the transmission wanted to see the car to verify for warranty purposes that was true. They discovered the new axels that were put in was wrong one and the mechanic had jammed it in there so bad that it almost damaged the transmission. Instead the mechanic broke the new axel, strut and wheel hub. I called the owner and he denied it and said my car was a piece of junk and that stuff was broken when brought in because I was asking him to cover the additional cost. He refused to stand behind his work but blamed me for the trouble and hung up on me. The owner is a real POS!!!! ...read more

I'm sorry to say but this is the worst service I have ever received and this will be sent to Gieco insurance as well.. I has told that my car is a difficult car to do and they did not want to do it. Fine I understand that but then I receive a call 2 days later telling me that it can be done. I set up the appointment I drop off my car then I get a call 2 hours later saying it can't be done. This is now the 2nd time and I am beyond angry. And to boot the representative at the Bethpage NY office showed very little concern and was pretty much useless in the whole situation. Just so I am clear my inspection is due in 2 weeks if I am unable to get the windshield replaced I will be hold your company liable for any tickets that I receive. Please tell me what you plan to do about this situation as am still driving with a cracked windshield Vincent Pacilio Phone number 516-790-5458 ...read more

Sears Auto Center - Closed

This place is terrible. They should be called TIRE center, not auto. I called ahead and asked if they could look at my car because of a whining noise, she said absolutely, sounds like a belt issue, bring it in. I bring it in and ask them to look into the whining and to potentially fix a leaking tire and head off to the mall awaiting a phone call. Over 70 minutes later I walk back and my car is sitting in the parking lot. I walk in and ask if they called to tell me it was ready like they said they would and they told me they forgot. They told me they thought it was a transmission issue and to call my dealer about it and that they fixed my tire...for $20?!??! Then because I asked them to peek at my brakes to see if they were ok, they charged me another $20 just to look at them and say, yep...they're fine. So basically, 70 minutes of waiting got me a patched tire for $40 and no answer other than essentially "we have no idea" on the actual issue I went in there for. Will not go here again. ...read more

National Tire & Battery

I have waited a few days after my encounter with the Assistant Manager Joe McCann before writing this review. I have bought many tires from other NTB outlets with complete satisfaction.\t\nOn this occasion, I was referred to this store by the guys at the Tuttle Crossing Store because this store had the tires that I needed in stock. While there, I bought one Michelin tire that became the spare. The spare matched the other three tires, so that worked out well. I told the sales person that I would return in a month or two(before the snow started to fly) to buy additional tires. He said that would be just fine. He'd get them for me. The new tire became the spare and I put no wear on it.\t\nIn December 2011, when I started researching replacement tires, I found the Michelins a little cheaper at Discount Tire, so I went there. When I got there, the sales person looked at the spare and asked me where and when I had gotten it. He informed me that the tire that I had just purchased at NTB-Billingsley Rd. was three years old and that Michelin had discontinued making the tire. So, I really could not match the spare to other tires because the replacement Michelins had a different tread pattern. He advised me to try to return the tire to NTB-which I did. Unsuccessfully.\t\nAt first, Joe McCann, the assistant manager refused to even talk with me about a refund because the manager was off that day. Finally, he took a look at the tire and saw that it indeed had been made in 2009 and was very nearly 3 years old. He confirmed the fact that the tire had been discontinued. I told him that I had been assured by the previous NTB salesman that I could match the tires in a couple of months. He simply told me that that salesperson was no longer employed by NTB.\t\nVery reluctantly, Joe McCann called the store manager and quickly told me that there was nothing that he could do. I was free to contact Michelin.\t\nI was very upset because they sold me a discontinued tire that was nearly three years old and told me nothing about either situation when I paid over $300 for the one tire.\t\nPlease be careful about buying from this particular store. They are more interested in selling tires than customer service. ...read more
