Relieving The Stress

Everyone has stress in their life. Stress is almost impossible to avoid in today's world. Trying to relieve the stress can sometimes become a stressful action. We tell ourselves we will meditate, or sit quietly, go for a walk, read or just be so we can be less stressful. The problem is trying to find the right moment to actually do any one of these things, or anything else to relieve stress. When we don't complete one of the actions we think we need to do we add more stress to our life. So what do we do? There really isn't any simple answer. The best way to start relieving stress is to find all the little things that stress you out first. For example, papers laying around the house or on the table really annoys you, then get rid of them. Put them away, throw them out whatever takes care of that situation. Ask you other half or a friend what they notice stresses you out so you can start to take care of it. Most of the time we don't recognize the little things that bother us, but someone close to us will. Next you have to mentally get ready to practice de-stressing yourself. Take a few days and keep telling yourself that you are going to sit quietly with some candles and some incense or oil diffusers. After a few days your mind will be responsive to actually making time and doing this. You will the be able to sit, even if its only for 15 minutes the first few times, and relax. Each time will get better and you will soon have time to de-stress. Most things we do take a little time to learn. Our minds rebel against doing something different by telling us we don't need it. With a little practice and coaxing, we can change that and enjoy things we want to do. The candles, incense and diffusers are a wonderful part of relaxing because the scents will take you away from where you are. Scents are very powerful in making your mind free to go where it wants especially going wherever the scent reminds it of. Give it a try, see what happens. You have nothing to lose! ...read more
