STAY AWAY, was given an estimate of $240 to fix my motor it ended up being $390 and it still wasnt even fixed, they left the fuel line rubbing against the fly wheel and almost killed me the first time I used it, the fly wheel rubbed through the fuel line within 5 minutes and my motor was covered in gas and when I asked them about it they never even apologized and they took two weeks to fix it. RV Buyers Guide

Spring has sprung, which means camping season is almost here! If you are looking to upgrade your RV or are looking to purchase your first one, here are a few tips to help you through the buying process.     “Running Costs” Some people see buying an RV as similar to buying a car. In some cases it is, but RVs are in a class of their own. One of the most important things you need to consider when in the process of deciding on purchasing an RV are what we like to call the “running costs”. Just like you have to think about gas, oil changes, tires, and general maintenance costs on a car, you have to take into consideration the costs of owning an RV. Maintenance, insurance, oil, and fuel are important aspects in deciding on which kind of RV is best for you.   Also, where do you plan on parking your RV when you aren’t using it? Will you need to pay for it to be in storage? Where do you plan on taking your RV? Are there campground costs? These are all questions to ask yourself while in the process of deciding on an RV. This will help you find an RV that will fit your budget with the costs of owning it.   Which type of RV fits your budget and lifestyle? There are so many different types of recreation vehicles out there to choose from.  Motorhomes, travel trailers, toy haulers, truck campers, fifth wheels, and more. Here is a brief description of a few different options:   Class A   Class A is best known as being the biggest motorhome.  They are usually a favorite among full-time RVers because they are full of luxurious amenities that will remind you of home.  They can sleep quite a few people and can have a separate master bedroom for comfort and privacy. Class A motorhomes are quite large in size and don’t have the best fuel economy. But, they sure offer the comforts of home when you are on the road!   Class B   Class B motorhomes are actually the smallest out of the three motorhome options. They tend to have better fuel economy, but less space. This motorhome is better for a smaller amount of people and shorter timespans on the road. Class B motorhomes are great for couples! The popularity of the Class B motorhome, also known as the “camper van”, has grown because of the increase in amenities they are now offering even with their small spaces.   Class C   The Class C motorhomes are pretty much right in the middle between Class A and Class B. They have an attached cab that usually has convertible sleeping quarters above.  Class C’s don’t have as much room as a Class A, but they can still sleep quite a few people. This motorhome is great for families wanting a vacation vehicle and still remain the most popular motorhome class according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) 2015 report.   Travel Trailer Travel trailers offer the most flexibility and are one of the most popular towable RVs available. They are available in many different lengths and weights to work will a variety of different vehicles for towing. If you own a mid-sized SUV, full sized SUV, or truck, chances are you can tow a travel trailer with your current vehicle. Travel trailers are more budget friendly than a motorized RV. Unlike a fifth wheel, travel trailers have a lower height clearance, fit on a standard ball hitch, and can be attached and detached with ease.       Fifth Wheel Fifth wheels have a goose-neck looking front end that attaches in the bed of a truck and offer more living area for each foot of length when compared to other types of RVs. The fifth wheel trailer traditionally features a split-level floor plan that has the living are with extra space and the master bedroom up over the truck bed. Fifth wheel trailers are often cheaper to maintain, purchase, and service than to a comparable motorhome.     Toy Hauler Toy haulers are very similar to travel trailers, but have the added feature of being designed with a garage for motor toys. The garage area is usually separated by a wall and door to the sleeping area of the RV. Once you take your ATV or UTV out of the garage area, usually that can be converted into a living space.     Truck Camper A truck camper is a RV that fits in the bed of a truck and can usually be removed and used without the need for the truck. Truck campers are designed to fit most standard truck beds. It is common to see a truck camper owner towing a trailer while carrying the camper in the truck bed. This allows for bringing along dirt bikes, utility vehicles, and many other items on your trip.     What You Should Be Looking For Type of RVs you like How much storage you will need Amenities (microwave, cooktop, outdoor shower, etc) Floorplan (Do you want a master bedroom separate from the rest of the RV?) Fuel economy     When you are ready to find your perfect RV, our RV professionals are ready to help you find exactly what you are looking for. They will help you understand the maintenance requirements and running costs. We have a parts and service department at all 3 of our locations. We also have an auto body shop at our Billings location that can help with fiberglass and gel coating fixes if needed.
