Okay, how many of us are actually living out some dream they had in 1969? (how many of us were born then?) Well, after 28 years of good days and bad, ups and downs,we are still here and enjoying the ride. In 1978, along with my husband John, we deposited $2000.00 in the bank and opened the first (and only) J Rohr Carpeting and Draperies. We have had lots of fun along the way and as John says about owning your own business "there is never a dull moment!". We've have been to numerous employee weddings including some couples that met at our store. We have lived through the birth of their children and watched them raise their families. We now know that when it comes to hiring, we are likely to be old enough to be their parents (at least) instead of their peers. This is definitely an eye opener! Our clients are now bringing intheir children, with grandchildren in tow, to fullfill their floorcovering needs. All this has led to an interesting life. As some of my clients remind me, they know my daughter from when she was in the playpen in our store. She is now 25 years old. To all these clients and our new arrivals, we say thank you for helping us get to where we are today. It has been a journey I wouldn't have missed. Antique wool rugs are fragile so gentleness and care should be taken when trying to keep them clean. They do get dirty from time to time but they cannot be cleaned like most rugs.
