Top Book Stores in Marietta, GA 30060

This is a great place with friendly folk. I get a lot of fantastic bargains here but, unfortunately, they will be going out of business next month. I hope they will open up again in another location.Read Moreā€¦

Once and Again Book 2

Great selection of books - nice, quiet place to read. \t\n\t\nCons: coffee and tea selections are pretty bad. No creamer or sugar last time I was there. Staff was too busy to even say hello or goodbye and referred me to their website if I had any questions about consigning my books with them. Didn't give me their website so when I asked, the woman didn't stop looking at her computer and simply laid a book marker with information on it on the counter in front of me. Very rude and discourteous and because of that, I won't be going back. Too bad, too, because I like the quietness of it.\t\n\t\nGH - grumpyhair dot wordpress dot com\t\n ...read more

On a visit to Atlanta, I visited the Book Nook in Decatur with a few friends. I was immediately struck by how loud and obnoxious the older clerk was. I was in the store more than 30 minutes, and this employee (owner?) spent the entire time ---in a very loud voice--- spewing out his political views that became so annoying and distracting that I put my selections back and my friends and I left the store. Ridiculous political tirades againt President Obama, former President Carter, Vice President Al Gore, against working women in general...on and on. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinions, but it is bad form for a representative of a retail establishment to rail on loudly endlessly about his or her political beliefs no matter what side of the aisle one sits. \t\nListening to how Iran should have been bombed with nukes back in 1980 was ridiculous. Then to hear him talk about how his wife never dares to complain about being given his opinion was almost surreal. I don't know but I suspect this man must have been the owner. I tried to tune him out, but he is LOUD and barely pauses to take a breath. ...read more
