Hi I started out by buying a needlework shop that I had worked in for 3 years. I knew the figures and the sales and it was "A Sure Thing". Not! I was in a tourist town, Helen, GA, and last year was no time to be in a tourist town. When the economy tanked and the gas prices soared it was devastating. Then there was NO gas and that finished me and several others in that town off. If money could not be squirreled away during the summer months, there was no way to get through the winter months. Now I am "web only" but I have hopes of opening a real store front again someday. In the meantime, I do have a shop of sorts set up in a semi-private campground. By carrying charts that cater to the type of events that are hosted there, I hope to at least cover expenses. It's better than sitting at home all the time. It is amazing how time consuming it can be and I try to give good descriptions since needlework is such a tactile hobby.
