I was a 40 year smoker who had tried most everything from hypnosis to cold turkey. Nothing worked. The problem was, as much as I hated the nastiness of tobacco cigarettes and all the health risks associated with them, I enjoyed smoking. I believe I'm typical of your average smoker. Most hate cigarettes but enjoy smoking. What I Tell All New Clients First.You need to know that as long as you are vaping nicotine, you have not quit smoking but you have quit the deadly, dirty, nasty cigarettes. It's imperitive that you maintain yourelectronic cigarette, keep it charged and to make sure you always have a supply of cartridges ande-liquid. Otherwise, you will seek out and smoke the tobacco cigarette. If your goal is to wean off nicotine entirely, do so gradually, mixing up various strengths as your body adjusts. Second.When first starting with your electronic cigarette, donot deprive yourself of your tobacco ones. We all think that we are the master and mistresses of will power. However, if you do not succeed long term, your electronic cigarette will end up in a drawer and you will end up back on tobacco cigarettes. Instead, if you want a tobacco cigarette, have one. But, with one very important difference; if you are serious about putting the tobacco cigarette down, you must analyze why you are smoking it. If when you light up, your reaction is "ahh this is what I needed" and you feel a satisfaction you hadn't obtained with your new electronic cigarette, you need to up the nicotine strength in your cartridges and e-liquid. This is a sure sign that you are not satisfying your nicotine intake requirements. If, on the other hand, your reaction when you light up is "gee, I thought I was missing something but I don't think I am," this is a psychological addiction to your old friend and it will diminish in time. Experience indicates that you will smoke half of quite a few tobacco cigarettes before you ultimately realize that you just don't need them any more.
