We contracted with this local flooring company at the beginning of 2011 and have most sincerely lived to regret it. We purchased both tile and bamboo flooring from the company. It was laid by the company's "best" sub-contractor. Their "best" had never previously laid a wood floor. The result for us was four very inexpertly laid wood floors which show gaps and damage done during installation by the sub-contractor. The sub also left glue all over the wood floors in full knowledge that glue left on wood flooring damages the surface beyond any repair except refinishing. The grout used to finish the tile installation has already dried and cracked in the six months since the job was finished. The company's owner, Kim Black, is non-responsive to any and all requests for help, not bothering to even respond to a BBB complaint. Think long and hard before contracting with this business. Many reputable and trust-worthy businesses exist in Vero Beach. Designer's Touch Flooring unfortunately just isn't one of them. ...read more

Florida is gearing up for the busy season!

Our state is a favorite destination for many snowbirds from Georgia on up to Canada, and at the first sign of cool weather up north, our restaurants get busier, traffic picks up, and the people who live here part time arrive to dust off their furniture, get some groceries in the refrigerator, and soak up a little sun.  With Thanksgiving and Christmas, we all get swamped with family and festivities, and have very little time for our own projects. September and October are a good time to prepare for the holidays, and fix up the rooms you plan to use for entertaining. With new products on the market, and wonderful decorating ideas from HGTV and Shaw Floors to guide us, get the ball rolling and make your home or business beautiful, and ready for the fall. The new laminates, Resilient, hardwoods, wood look tiles, lush quality Fabrica carpet, vinyl, and bamboo flooring products are stunning and sure to freshen up any home or business. We invite you to take on the challenge of improving your space, and visit us for your flooring needs, to complete your project. Indian River Flooring is located in Vero Beach, directly behind the Staples store on US Hwy 1 and 12th Street. Visit us today! ...read more

Summertime blues?

There is nothing like a home improvement "project" to make you feel like you are accomplishing something. When that project involves making your home (or business) look fresh and up to date, you are indeed accomplishing several things here:  *Potentially increasing the value of your home, both for resale purposes, or personal enjoyment right now.  *Updating&replacing; old materials that are full of pet hair, dirt and dust from years of use.  *Installing materials that better suit your needs today, such as updating the "baby's room" for your soon-to-      be teenager, or your replacing that cold, hard tile in the kitchen with a softer, warmer new vinyl product. I know, from personal experience, that once you do a bathroom makeover, or update your kitchen backsplash or Master bedroom floor, you can be confident that the project was likely a wise investment in your home's value. Visit us at Indian River Flooring in Vero Beach to go over your ideas and plan your next project, or give us a call at 772-569-5068.    ...read more

When selecting a flooring product, ask yourself these questions:

What is the cost? This is a primary concern when shopping for flooring, so be sure to ask what is included in the price advertised. Does it include installation, trim, carpet pad, moisture barriers (for wood floors), etc. A great price may result in hidden costs or no service after the sale. You get what you pay for, so be sure you know what is included! Which product is best for my space?  When deciding between wood, tile or carpet, for your space, you should consider things like exposure to foot traffic, water, children, pets, sand from beaches, and even noise. Carpet absorbs sound and is soft, for a babies room. Tile is tough and great if you have pets, or for exposure to moisture (bath, kitchen, and entry ways). Wood is beautiful and elegant for offices and reception areas, but not recommended for areas prone  to water spillage.  What else should I consider when shopping for flooring products? Be sure to ask about product warranties, care and cleaning, and follow up services, such as repairs and re-stretches. Many big box stores sell you a product and do not follow up with the service you need to take care of that product and insure you get the best wear out of it. Bigger isn't always better! Be sure to contact us with any questions, or stop in and speak with our sales personnel.  Indian River Flooring, Inc.  1171 Commerce Ave. Vero Beach, FL 32960 772-569-5068 ...read more
