We had a client provide lunch for our office using corporate catering. It was great. So I used them this week for a luncheon for my clients. The same consistent service and food. Not having to worry about set up or clean up is amazing. The food is delicious. The presentation is just wonderful. Blue Banquet Hall

By Anonymous

Well, the new renovated Blue banquet hall is very nice looking but don't be fooled by the looks. They are expensive and will offer you the world before you sign their contract. Take your money and don't even tell you the deposit is non-refundable. The outside vendors they use are not professional and don't even return your call. I will never even think of doing business with Blue banquet hall in the future nor recommend to anyone. ...read more

Doral Receptions

I would say my experience was disappointing, but as a warning if you don't speak Spanish, please don't book them. My wedding party including myself does not speak the language, but the DJ Pepe was awful, and he ruined my wedding. He didnt play my requested songs, and he cut off my husband and his mothers dance. He did not know how to keep the crowd moving, and his song choices were terrible and didnt flow. Also the bartenders didnt know how to make any drinks, including crown and coke...and spoke NO English...people were waiting over 20 mins in line for a drink because of how slow they were and the lack of drink knowledge. The food was cold when served. On a positive note the linens were beautiful from VIP productions, and my MC Mercy was great! But overall I was not happy mainly due to the DJ, the bartenders and the staff not speaking English. ...read more

Derek's Dance Masters Dance Club

5.0

By swing2country

Went to Derek's Saturday class, dance and dinner. Had a great time. This was my 1st time there. Derek taught a one hour Samba beginner group class. Never did Samba in my life but Derek made it east to pick up the basics of a new dance. Open dancing and hot buffet dinner followed the class. Big dance floor, easy parking in the shopping center lot. Had a great time. The best part was Derek's teaching. He was excellent. He taught slowly, repeated the moves, kept good order with a big group, rotated the students in practicing the steps and made it fun. Would highly recommend this place. (The cost was $12 maybe $15.) ...read more

Renaissance At The Gables

By Priscilla57 at Citysearch

To begin with we paid our wedding off in a few payments. Whenever we would call to verify our balance. They would always be short a thousand or so which is absurd..luckily we keep good records and would print out all of our checks and fax them to the people at renaissance. This happened 3 times, and we were always patient and nice and never lost our cool with them even though it was frustrating.\t\n\t\nWe booked everything with them, from limo to pictures and video.BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE..\t\n\t\nThe Limo which we booked to pick me up from my house take me to the venue then take us to our hotel..was 30 minutes late picking me up.the air conditioning barely worked The limo dropped me off at Renaissance and when the wedding was over and we called them to pick us up.they said when tony booked it he told them it was a one way trip..luckily a few friends had stuck around and drove us to the hotel.\t\n\t\nWhere should I begin.Tony and his mother no where to be found....which is funny because I booked Tony as our photographer and some guy who spoke no english showed up to take my pictures. The flower decorations we payed 40 dollars for to be put cascading on the cake? were sitting next to the cake and one of their employees asked my guest to arrange the flowers.since she was ""a girl and would be better at it"".They did not set out my envelope box or my cake cutter..my bridesmaids had to go on the hunt for that..\t\n\t\nWhen it came time for me to walk down the aisle...The moment I had been dreaming about...the DJ played the wrong song, come to think of it even at the reception he played 2 songs from the list of music we had provided him and he mis-pronounced our names and the names of our bridal party as he introduced us.\t\n\t\nThe comes the matter of my wedding pictures.\t\n\t\nIn my pictures just to give you a few examples..I could see people smoking in the background, the camera mans face reflected in the window of the limo, there was a 6 foot ladder in the background of all of my pictures, the camera man took only 1 photo of my entire bridal party, never got a picture of just my mom and me, he wouldn't do retakes if he saw people weren't looking or something was messed up as was evident when I viewed the pictures. The one picture of me full length where you can see my dress and the train......my train is still folded under itself at some points. It was just the sloppiest work I had ever seen in my life....When I called Tony to complain I thought he would be understanding and do whatever he could to help us since we had been so patient with them when they screwed up our money all the time....his answer to me? YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.....What do you want me to do about it?\t\n\t\nI went crazy when I heard these words. He finally agreed to take the pictures back and edit them for me.This was in May.I called and left messages and e-mailed and never got a call back from renaissance...I always just had to keep calling until tony was ""available"".sometimes my husband would call and tony would be ""out sick"" and I called 20 min later and Tony answered..\t\n\t\nI FINALLY got my pictures on Sept 12..Tony claimed they were mailed out on September the 3rd and I kept calling because I hadn't received them, and he kept insisting they had been put in the mail.when I looked at the envelope the date on the envelope was september 9th..Every single day I spoke to him he was lying to me, .the worst part was I waited 5 months to get my pictures back and they were CROPPED.that's it.no enhancement to change of background, no black and white, no sepia nothing.the picture we loved we will have to take to a professional to edit because behind us all you see is power lines.\t\n\t\nIt became evident that after you gave them your money you became worthless to this company. My guest did seem to enjoy the wedding but that's only because they weren't on the inside seeing everything that went wrong and how they treat people after they have taken your money.\t\n\t\n ...read more

You Found a Caterer, Now How About the Menu?

You Found a Caterer, Now How About the Menu? When it comes to hosting the perfect corporate event, planning is key. You’ve obviously prepared for the business aspect of the event, but what about the event itself? Since it’s a corporate event, you’re going to keep things professional. When you’ve decided on acater in Miami, FL, the next step is to decide on the menu. There are many things to consider before you choose what food will be served at the event and it’s important to take everything into consideration. A company like Corporate Catering can help you with menu selection so everything goes off without a hitch. Here are a couple of things to consider when picking out your menu. What’s the context? There are a few broad questions to get you started on the menu picking process. First, when is your event occurring? Breakfast, lunch and dinner fare are all quite different and you wouldn’t want to get them confused. Fresh fruit would be perfect for breakfast, but not so much at dinner. Sandwiches are excellent at lunchtime because they are quick and easy to eat, but a bit unprofessional at any other point. It’s also important to consider what sort of event it is. A company picnic, for example, will require less formal items than a function with potential clients you’re looking to impress. Take into consideration the age of those attending. If it’s an older crowd then you may want to keep the menu conservative. However, a younger crowd may appreciate more bold and adventurous meals. You may still want to have one safer option for the picky eaters however. Variety You need to have a good variety of food options available if you want to make sure everyone can find something they like. Usually this means having at least two entrees along with a good assortment of sides. Salads are a great idea, but make sure you have several options when it comes to dressing. Obviously the food needs to taste good, so it’s a smart idea to use as many seasonal or regional items as possible as they will be the best. Serving oranges in Florida would be a good example. It’s also important to take into consideration the people or group you are serving. If you’re entertaining an animal rights group then serving any kind of meat would probably be a bad idea. However, regardless of the people or group’s business, remember that variety is key. You want your corporate event to be absolutely perfect and so do the good people at Corporate Caterers. Catering an event in Miami, FL doesn’t have to be a complete nightmare. Let us help you decide on the perfect menu to compliment any event. ...read more
