Dust on your photographs?

Is Dust Appearing on Your Photographs? Unwanted spots and strange little shapes can be a nuisance and difficult to remove. Here are a few ideas: Avoid the temptation of using a can of air and blowing inside the camera.  This can just spread the camera dust to another spot. Avoid using a brush.  If you use a soft brush, make surer that the brush is new and won't be leaving any parts behind.  Use an anti static brush, if you must use a brush...But avoid it! Avoid hand blowers.  Some people are able to pick up dust with these... It's not the most efficient way.  It may not be safe as it may also just move the dust to another area. Avoid putting anything else inside your camera to clean it. So what is the best way? Try the built in cleaning system that your camera has. This will clean the sensor. Some cameras turn this on automatically and others will need your control. If you cannot remove the spots then you can remove them with software like Photoshop. If that is not something you want to deal with you can send it to the manufacturer and have them clean it for you. Not always a guarantee of success and you may just have to go back and deal with it on the computer. So...How can you avoid this? When you change camera lenses:  Try to do this in a protected area with no wind so that nothing will blow in. Point your camera down when changing the camera lens. Try to keep your camera in a clean bag or area so that it will not collect dust. Big Tip:  Do not go to crazy over this.  It just may get some dust at some point. Keep shooting and have fun! When photographing at night you need a very sturdy tripod.   Photograph with a low ISO so that you will not get noise. Use a sharp aperture. Read more about this on my blog Night Photography: Photographing at Dusk and at night We meet once a month to photograph with the moonlight.  This week I was lucky to be able to go to the Vizcaya Museum and the Fairchild Tropical Garden. I was asked what camera people should bring.  Any and all cameras.  The idea is to photograph and to have fun.  While I was there I used the fabulous camera on my phone as well as the Sony nex-7.  The secret was the tripod that kept all my images nice and sharp!
