Climate Control Heating & Air Conditioning Inc

2.0

By andybowman

I'm giving them 2 stars, because they did manage to get a unit installed and working. Short version: Do not use these guys, you may end up regretting it after dealing with months of incompetence. Long version: We ordered a HVAC unit through Lowes for a rental house in Palm Coast in December 2013, the unit was installed and everything was running well. After the install I started getting calls from Climate Control to schedule final inspection by the city. I reminded them every time to call the tenant in order to schedule. Then I would hear nothing until that call repeated a week or three later. This went on every few weeks for a period. Then the calls stopped and I assumed they had gotten it taken care of. On July 17 2014 I recieved a letter from them with some printouts and a handwritten note that I owed $40 re-inspection fee. Apparently they had scheduled an inspection 3/10/13 with out contacting anybody and the inspector was unable to gain access to the air handler. Note it took them 4 months to notifiy us of the failed inspection. I called the number on the note to find out what was going on. The "lady" that answered said that I had to pay for the re-inspection or "leave it alone and see what happens when you try to sell that house in the future". When I stated I thought they should have scheduled it properly and since they didn't they should pay it and schedule a new inspection she just said "well we won't pay it". At that point in the conversation I unfortunately got upset, vented a bit at this purported "lady" and hung up. I contacted the tenant and the city, paid the reinspection fee and scheduled an inspection myself; 5 minutes of work, I wonder what "the lady" does all day. The day after the phone call the tenant dropped off a code enforcement notice from the city of Palm Coast that had been found taped to the garage door. There is a little known about ordinance in Palm Coast about blocking the HVAC unit from view from the street. Anybody who has ever been in Palm Coast can immediately see that it is rarely if ever followed or enforced. However, purely by coincidence we recieved a notice regarding that HVAC right after speaking to Climate Control. I went to Lowes and showed them the paper work. The installation manager was great, he told me that Climate Control Heating & Air were "on the back burner", and they have used them very little lately because they have been difficult to work with scheduling wise. He assured me now they were "off the burner completely". Lowes refunded me the reinspection fee immediately as well (I used the money to buy panels to cover the AC with). The point of this whole long tirade is: beware. Climate Control Heating & Air scheduling/customer service people are incompetent and ornery and will apparently be vindictive if you dare complain to them about their poor service. ...read more

We purchased (and paid in full) a dryer from Aaron's in Daytona, but we were never told it was a used item. When I returned it 24 hours later, I asked for a refund. I was given a refund receipt and watched my credit card for the transaction to post. When it didn't, I called Aaron's and was told that my bank was the problem. First, of all, I too own a business and know that the information they gave me was incorrect. When I called Citicards to dispute the charge they investigated and found that Aaron's had not followed through correctly, therefore the refund can't post. At this point, Citicards is going to handle the dispute because I can't stand businesses that are dishonest. My rating of this business is 0. No stars for you! ...read more

ARE YOU ALLERGIC TO YOUR VACUUM CLEANER?

It is a FACT that most vacuum cleaners spit out millions of particles of allergens and dust back into your home as you use them. Repeated exposure to these allergens can impair your ability to breathe and may cause allergic reactions and other lung related health issues. Is your vacuum cleaner making you sick? Many people are running out and buying a vacuum cleaner that touts a HEPA filter, not realizing that having a HEPA filter is not the same as having a H.E.P.A. sealed vacuum cleaning system. If the vacuum cleaner is not sealed, it will allow air...and allergens, dust and bacteria...to exit the machine from other places instead of being trapped by the filter. Take your vacuum cleaner to Richard's Vacuum Center on Mason Avenue and have it checked. They have a state of the art air particle laser counter and can check it for you while you wait. If it is causing you allergy problems, you may want to trade it in for a vacuum cleaner that does not cause this health problem. ...read more
