Rosamunde Sausage Grill
By Sheauen at Citysearch September 07, 2010
i was introduced to three twins ice cream the last time I was in SF and had to go back for some. we hadn't eaten lunch yet and noticed Rosamunde. I walked by and had to have a sausage. its hard to find a good bratwurst in LA. I was not disappointed. she took my order wrote my name down and said 10 minutes. I guess they grill them fresh which is great! 10 long minutes later (not a problem, we stood outside and watched the sidewalk BBQ party across the street sing a romping rendition of Queens ""We are the Champions"") i had two steaming brats in a soft (yet toasty) roll topped with onions, sauerkraut, and brown mustard. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Would I go back and stand in line in a cramped hole in the wall with maybe seats for 8 people. HELL YES. Best Brat ever! juicy, with a snap. *sigh* i want another one right now. Oh yeah, we went to three twins after and the ice cream paled in comparison to the awesome-ness of rosamunds. should've had another sausage instead of the ice cream. ...read more

Went into Whole Foods today because I wanted fish. I didnt want to go to a scetchy place where I didnt know what the quality would be. Cod fillets were on sale so I took 1.5 lbs. Got home and started taking the bones out and noticed a strange curly thing on the surface. Picked it up and threw it away. Then I noticed another curly thing in the fish. Cut into the fish and pulled it out. IT WAS MOVING! Hit the internet for more info. Turns out it is a Cod worm. They occur rarely and can be prevented if you either A. look at the fish and see there are worms on it, or B. hold the fish to the light and see worms inside (called Candling). Candling is not Whole Foods responsibility but you would think you a least look at the fish when you are putting it in the display. There were at least three worms on the outside and I dont know how many on the inside. I was refunded the money for the fish but that doesnt really make up for the experience. ...read more
Whole Foods Market

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, especially when it comes to recommending what's new and fresh. The cheese and meats here are my favorite because even though the prices can really skyrocket, the selection is impeccable. Compared to the Ferry Building Farmer's Market where I spend at least twice as much on every visit, this place is a deal! So much selection of organic and grass fed meats really is a plus. Whenever I'm being lazy, it's also a great place to pick up a pre-made meal, albeit a little on the bland side. ...read more
