Do you remember that old story about the 3 blind people who each felt different parts of an elephant and each guessed that they were feeling something totally different because none of them had perceived the bigger picture? I've discovered that life is a lot like that. If we focus on improving just one area of our lives to the exclusion of other parts of our lives, there is some spill- over, but we may not even notice it or realize that we have to adjust for the spill- over. Improving even one part of your life is a good thing, and will cause other parts of your life to get a bit better, as long as you don't lose sight of the fact that you have to focus on being a whole person, living a whole many faceted life. It's more complex than just having to wear different hats through the day. We all know that in the mornings, before we're off to work, we may be a parent or spouse or have other familial type obligations. And after that, we have obligations at work, so we switch hats. After that, we have our commute time back home again, when maybe we have a few precious minutes to ourselves, before we have to be a part of the family again. Our lives are so much more than that! I've learned that our health really depends on our injecting fun healthful pastimes into our daily lives. That only happens if we plan it. If we don't plan, then one facet of our lives tends to take over all the others, and we become unbalanced. We may become workaholics or couch potatoes, or stuck in a rut in some other facet of life. Keeping our lives balanced is so important, that Petaluma, and even all of California is suddenly chock full and getting fuller of Yoga studios, Life Coaches, Psychologists, Accupuncturists, MFTs, and Spas and Gyms. These are places where you can get more "Me Time" or figure out the best way to get more "Me Time", along with getting a few precious healing moments and or moments of clarity. I felt that it was so important to share my latest epiphany with my community that I will be offering a class series starting Apr. 1 to introduce some of my collegues from these previously mentioned fields of alternative health. You can read a bit more about it in my blog at WWW.Perfectdaymassage.com One of the classes in the series (1st Fri. of the mo.) will be on the blending of essential oils for health, and I will be teaching it myself. It'll probably be the first class, as that will give me time to introduce the speaker for the next class. There will also be time for networking during the first half hour of each class. I will require RSVPs so that I will know how many chairs to set out, and whether or not I will be able to offer the class at all, as it really depends on my being able to pay the speakers for their time. Please do pass this information on to friends, because more participants means lower costs for all of us.
