By Miss Sadie at Citysearch

This martial arts studio has good classes for children and adults. Some schools only focus on kids and do not offer a full program for grownups, but they offer beginner classes all the way to black belt for all ages. It is convenient that they have classes 7 days a week. Intense kicking and cardio. Lost 5 pounds the first month without diet! ...read more

Jun Chong Tae Kwon DO Studio

5.0

By Barfighter at Citysearch

I was walking to my appointment today when I passed this Kav Maga school and my desire was to stop, stare and watch them train as they were all lined up to punch the bag. So I did soon after my meeting was over. What a difference in training!!! Granted two completely different styles of self defense yet the TKD taught by Grand Master Jun Chong far supersedes the mediocre style of fighting being demonstrated. i was able to appreciate the repetitive punching and kicking that is driving us to Excellence. God Bless Grand Master Chong! ...read more

Use Technology to Your Advantage When Keeping Children Safe

Technology has changed so many things in our lives – how we communicate, how we work, how we live. Taking advantage of technology is also a great way to add more security to your life. Take the Identakey product, for example. We sell this fabulous product and recommended it wholeheartedly; child safety should never be taken lightly. Identakey is for giving you peace of mind about your children whether they are with you or not. What makes this child safety product so interesting? Let us count the ways: * It’s a keychain, so it’s with you as often as your keys are (which, for most of us, is nearly all the time) * It’s a USB drive that stores all the child safety information you might need about your kids, which could be especially helpful in the event your child were to go missing. * It stores medical records, photos, fingerprint scans and other child safety information that the police might ask for if your child goes missing. * It can be plugged into any computer’s USB port and started immediately so information is literally at your fingertips. * It’s affordable. For a small price, you earn the most peace of mind you can imagine – the safety of your children. If a child goes missing, it provides the peace of mind in knowing you did everything you could to hasten their safe return. We know that thinking about your child getting lost or abducted is one of the scariest things imaginable. It’s not our mission to scare you about child safety but to give you the tools to ensure that should something scary happen, you will have the knowledge, tools and wherewithal to ensure the fast and safe return of your child and nothing is more important than that. Ask Yourself: Is Your Concern with Personal Safety Paranoia?

Not everyone is innately concerned about their personal safety. Some people simply take it for granted. They might not, then, be that understanding of your desire to be safe. They might think you are being paranoid if you make your house a safe place or you purchase personal safety items. Are you paranoid, though? How can you know if your desire to stay safe has taken you into scary, paranoid waters?  Here are a few things to consider: * Have you (or a close friend or family member) ever been a victim of crime? If so, your desire to stay safe comes from a place of experience, not ignorant paranoia. Studies show that while many people are generally less than careful about their personal safety, they become much more so after they have a personal experience with crime. * Are you always scared, fretful and concerned about your personal safety? If so, you might be a bit paranoid. While the newscasters might like us to believe that there’s a crime happening every few seconds (and there is, somewhere), it’s not happening to you and the chance of you actually becoming a victim of a crime are fairly low. Taking basic safety measures is OK, but if you are always afraid and verging on paranoid, that might be a problem. * Do you live in a high-crime area? If so, then taking your personal safety seriously is far from paranoid. It’s intelligent. You should be aware of the dangers that are around you and be careful to take basic precautions so you don’t become a statistic. * Are you always talking about your personal safety? If you speak of little else, it’s understandable why people might think you are paranoid. Take basic measures to keep yourself safe and do so with intelligence and reserve. People will begin to believe you are being safe, not paranoid. We know that being safe and keeping your family safe is important to you. That’s what we at Your Safe Side are here for. We believe that good intentions and intelligent purchases can help you get peace of mind and that’s worth more than anything else. ...read more

Your Home Safety: Five Safety Products No Home Should be Without

For most people, keeping their home and family safe is a top priority. But if you think safety at home is as simple and basic as locking the doors at night, you need a little bit of an education. Home safety doesn't just include trying to prevent burglary, although that is the most common crime perpetrated at home, but it also includes fire safety. The five top home safety items you should never be without include four items to protect against burglary and one fire safety item. Home safety item essential No. 1: A door or window stop Burglars often enter through a door or window, but if you install a window or door stop, they will be literally stopped in their tracks. A jammer product can prevent a door from being pushed open, while a windows stop can allow you to leave your windows slightly open on a summer evening yet secure them so the window cannot open any further. Home safety item essential No. 2: Dummy security cameras Statistics show that would-be burglars are deterred when they see security cameras. Many of us can't afford the real thing, but we can fool burglars into believing that we have the real thing. Many dummy security cameras look and sound just like the real thing, and there is no way for your burglar to know that your security camera isn't real and that he or she isn't being recorded. Home safety item essential No. 3: A safe When we say safe, we are not talking about a traditional safe with a combination lock and a big door. That is rather obvious. Instead, you can buy a number of affordable safes that mimic normal household items like shaving cream and sink cleaner. They look like the real thing, but they're not, and inside you can store jewelry or cash. A burglar in a hurry is not likely to get into your bathroom cabinets and search the shaving cream can. Safety item essential No. 4: An entrance alert If you don't have a burglar alarm in your home, an entrance alert can do a similar job. When the entrance alert is dislodged from a window or door, it sets off a screeching, piercing alarm that not only scares off the intruder but let's you and your neighbors know that someone was trying to break in. Safety item essential No. 5: Christmas tree fire retardants It's true that this is not an item you will need throughout the year, but safety at home also includes keeping your structure standing, and since the most common cause of fire during the Christmas holiday season is fresh Christmas trees, this is an item that no home should be without during the holiday months. The fire retardants are inexpensive, yet help you and your family to know that you are safe from fire during the holiday season. Your safety at home should never be overlooked. Spend a few dollars to buy a huge amount of peace of mind. At Your Safe Side (www.yoursafeside.com) we can help you find all the safety essentials you need. ...read more
