Carl's Jr.

Went there when they first opened, all was good. Later on their staff leaves a lot to be desired, language barriers, getting orders wrong. Their food has been cold lately and tasted old/stale. Stopped going there for those reasons. One more thing, they need to chance their fryer oil more often, it stinks. ...read more

My g/f brought home cold burgers from there because she had to wait forever for the fries in the drive thru. I've gotten decent breakfast sandwiches there in the early morning. So I guess it's not so bad if you want something when everyone else is closed. ...read more

Wendy's

DRIVE-THRU\t\n\t\nFirst of all, the place looks really skuzzy, like it should be on the other end of the tracks or something. I ordered a shake and fries and the fries were barely warm; by the time I got home they were room temperature at best. You know how you get a bag of potato chips and it's usually only filled halfway: that's about what getting a "large order of fries" is here. The person I ordered from was actually kinda nice, but I found it really unprofessional when I pulled up to the window and one of the girls working was complaining at the top of her lungs about her roommate or something stupid. ...read more

Thank you for robbing me of an hour of my time, my wifes time, and my 3 year old sons time. We ordered such a small order, but after 55 minutes it was never delivered. After contacting what I think was passable as a manager, he came outside to talk to me with a crust filled pink eye. He wanted to bribe me with free sundaes. They lost my order. And we sat and waited, in the heat running our precious gas to keep the AC on. I have been to Sonic once, in Texas, and it was lousy. I figured yesterday I would go try the slushes. Well that was a mistake. I will never be going back there again. Thank you for a complete lack of service. ...read more

This Wendy's consistently shows Fox on its tv's. Today it had Glenn Beck . I walked out after the asking the clerk to change the channel to anything but this crazy hatemonger. She basically ignored me when I asked her to change it. I am going to be organizing a boycott against this Wendy's if I find it on again. ...read more

Woody's

Went to Woodys last night for the first time in 9 months as Woodys was advertising under new ownership. It isnt new ownership, Daves previous partner simply bought him out. Woodys is the same, weak, over priced drinks, same urine smelling inside bar, same staff as has always infected the place except now with the addition of Dangerous Terry Delany. With Terry (who has threatened customers due to under tipping and who has actually followed customers home to threaten them) you now also get his bf Crazy Kevin. Kevin can say and do anything he wants at Woodys, just like at IBTs before Terry was fired there, and Terry will back him up and throw out who ever stands up to Crazy Kevin. Want drama? Want a bad time? Go to Woodys...same old cr**, same old crowd. ...read more

Burger King

I purchased a tendercrisp chicken sandwich on 10/11/09, the chicken was still partially frozen. So I called the store and let the manager know, she then assumed I was lying and said she couldn't do anything without the sandwich. So, I drove back to the restaurant and when I went up to the drive thru window she said, "What is this?" and I told her that "It's the sandwich I just called about, to let you know it's still cold so I want my money back or a new sandwich." Her words were, "That's not true, I saw him put it on the grill and let it it sit for 5 minutes." And I said I want my money back, and she said that I had already eaten the sandwich. Note: I returned the entire sandwich even the piece I bit into. I asked for her name and the store manager and she said, "I'm busy!" and closed the window on me. Hey the sandwich was cold, I just either wanted a new one or to get my money back. ...read more

This Burger King on base has bad customer service. The workers are rude and not friendly and they need to learn to smile and show happiness and kindness. They are unprofessional and often seem irritated and unhappy. The food is sometimes not fresh as well. Not all of the workers are like this, but most are. ...read more

Whataburger

After patronizing Whataburgers for over 20 years, mostly in my home state of TX (which is also the home of Whataburger, Inc.), I recently experienced what you might call an "aberration" with respect to the company's typical customer service protocol. My order was pretty simple and straightforward (and was reflected on the receipt): One Double Whataburger (add cheese, bacon, and onions, and, hold the tomato and lettuce) with 1 large order of fries. It was carry-out, so I drove 5 miles back home and opened the food to eat it. As I bit into the burger, I tasted tomato and lettuce. A visual inspection confirmed their presence. I just happen to be allergic to tomato products and I really don't care for lettuce, so this concerned me. I ejected it quickly because my last encounter with tomatoes put me into the emergency room with a severe allergic reaction. I took the burger and the receipt back (yes, driving another 5 miles) to get a replacement of the entire order (and you probably would have too, since the fries were back at the house getting pretty cold). After all this driving, the manager on duty then refused to replace the fries, because, as she put it, "I hadn't brought those back as defective". Incredulous, I asked for, and received a refund for the entire order (including the fries!). So, instead of just replacing my fries, she elects to give me all of my money back!? I'm sure she was standing on principle, I'm just not sure which principle: the one based on her own stubborness, or, the one involving basic business mathematics. Bear in mind now, that this all transpired during a calm, collected exchange and not via your typical customer yelling over the counter at the manager. I'm pondering whether or not I'll ever patronize another Whataburger, if this is what they've become. If you gotta have that Whataburger, though, there are about six other locations around Tucson. ...read more

Best Burgers Series: Honey Apple Grilled Burgers

Here at my home I do the majority of the inside cooking and baking but when it comes to the great outdoors of grilling I pass the apron to my honey known as "The Rickster, Grill Master" of Pantano Vista Estates...what a fancy schmansy title hahaha. Today I have one in a series of Best Burgers to share with you as well as a couple of grilling tips.  Let's start with the tips first. Get asmoker boxfor your gas grill...it will dramatically improve the flavor of your grilled foods If you have a specific grilling question, just post it below and I'll have my honey man respond, since I posses no grilling talent what-so-ever...well that is if you want my personal grilling specialty of burnt shoe leather then by all means ask me lol.  What I do know is that I adore our Recipe book forBest Dressed Burgers booklet-every time I read it I am challenged to pick just one recipe but instead I've chosen to do a series of them for you starting with this one.  The Honey Apple Grilled Burgers made with our divineHoney Apple Grilling Sauce.  Now, on to the recipe. Honey Apple Grilled Burger Ingredients 3/4 lb ground beef 3/4 lb ground pork 1/4 cup applesauce 1 1/2 tablespoonHoney BBQ Seasoning Rub Honey Apple Grill Sauce 5-6 hamburger buns Directions Combine first 4 ingredients; shape into 5-6 patties.  Grill to desired doneness; brush Honey Apple Grill Sauce on during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.  Serve on buns topped with additional Honey Apple Grill Sauce to taste.  Makes 5-6 servings. Testing Notes:  Recipe calls for both beef and pork but you can use all beef if you wish Best way to mix up these ingredients is the old fashioned way, by hand.  I wear disposable plastic gloves when I do this Adding the applesauce adds a hint of flavor plus moisture making a juicier burger Wed your gloved hands with a little water when making the patties it  makes a huge difference in forming the patties to keep them from sticking Serve with a slice of smoked cheddar cheese, bacon and drizzle them in the Honey Apple Grill Sauce...it's a huge HIT in this household. Okay that's it for now, stay tuned for the next Best Burger in the Series the "Let's Luau Burgers".
