I lived at Kanawha Village for a few months in 2010 and overall, it was a good place to live (I especially liked that it had a month-to-month lease, which came in handy when I had a falling out with my roommate!). The apartments are charming with their wooden floors and arched doorways, and the two-bedroom units were a good size. The kitchen and appliances are a bit small though, but it worked out fine with some clever organizing and extra shelving. However, the complex is in need of updates, particularly in the laundry area. The machines work fine but the entrance is a bit shady. Also, the apartment manager can be a bit tough to get in touch with but she's a nice lady who looooves to talk! Bottom line? If you're on a budget or are looking for a short-term housing solution, give Kanawha Village a try and don't let the outside fool you! :) ...read more
