Saffron's Specialized Medical

5.0

I was a little wary of going to Saffron's on Mill Plain because of the very negative reviews I had read here and elsewhere. But I had no choice because it is the only mastectomy provider that my Medicaid plan will cover. My visit to Saffron's last Thursday (June 19, 2014) was exceptionally good, and I couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. The person who helped me was Jaymi. It started when she answered my phone call almost immediately, and she provided enough information to help me practically make my decision about what I needed right there on the phone. Going in to the store, I couldn't have been welcomed more warmly and immediately to a VERY lovely layout and well lit decor. The garment I needed was in stock, in my (unusual) size, and her help with trying it on was just perfect. Altogether an extremely pleasant, productive, warm, and caring transaction! Saffron's deserves a MUCH better reputation than they have. I highly recommend Saffron's. ...read more

Medical Equipment Repair Services in Vancouver, Washington

One of the most frequently asked questions that we get is: “How often should I charge my battery?” In order to maximize the life of the battery in your mobility scooter or power wheelchair it is important to charge your battery regularly. In general our rule is: If you use it everyday, then charge it everyday. A good method is, before you go to bed plug it in and let it charge overnight 8-14 hours, then unplug it. We have complied a list of do’s and don’ts for charging your power wheelchair or electric scooter. DO: Charge it everyday. If you use it Verify that the charger is charging the batteries by checking the lights or gauge on the charger. If the mobility device is not being used for a period of time, charge the batteries once a week Only use the proper charger that was provided with your power mobility device Have your batteries and charger inspected regularly or if you suspect that there is a problem DON’T: Don’t wait for the batteries to become completely dead before charging Don’t store the batteries in a low charge state for any period of time Don’t leave the mobility device on the charger “ALL” the time Don’t use extension cords to plug in charger When purchasing new batteries for your scooter of power wheelchair, don’t buy the cheapest. Batteries are not all equal and an authorized medical equipment dealer can help you determine the best brand and right batteries for you. Signs that you may need new batteries or need to see a repair center Mobility device loses power quickly Short charge times (When charging the light goes from red to green quickly) Decline in range of travel Battery indicator shows less than full when recently charged *Power surges (may also indicate throttle or speed pot) Doesn’t turn on Northwest Health and Safety Inc is a leadingrepair center for medical mobility scooters, Power Wheelchairs, Lift Chairs, Hospital Beds and much more. Emergency Preparedness Products

With the recent devastation in Japan that has rocked the world, we have many of our local customers asking themselves “Am I really prepared for the BIG ONE”. Japan has long been know as one of the most “prepared” counties and has typically taken the lead in earthquake preparedness and in terms of structural engineering. While it is difficult to predict what or when a disaster will occur here in the Northwest, you can bank on the fact that it will happen. The Portland and Vancouver areas has seen its fair share of natural disasters (mostly on a small scale) from tornado’s, flooding, volcanic activity, earthquakes and winter weather. In talking with local experts and emergency managers they feel the “Big One” is yet to come. Are you prepared? To be honest most commercially available emergency preparedness kits are not worth it. Most items needed in an emergency you already have. Building a kit can be a fun family project and it is important to get the family involved. Sometimes kids can bring a different perspective to it and you are wise to get their input. Northwest Health and Safety Inc. carries a line of emergency preparedness kits, first aid kits and supplies at their Vancouver, Washington store. The staff at Northwest Health and Safety Inc. is always happy to help you with your product selections and can make helpful recommendations.
