Whitworth Water District is a perfect example of why competition drives value and service! With no competition, their water is horrendous (has destroyed over $20k in stained concrete work with excessive mineral depositsin just 2 years) and their service is terrible. I erred and placed a stop check on the incorrect check number, which was returned to Whitworth Water. I have never bounced a check in my life or been late with a Whitworth Water payment. They won't take my check for payment (they say it's policy!). They will only take money order or cash for payment and I have to HAND DELIVER (they will not take via mail??). I travel for a living and I am never in town during their limited hours (closed weekends and close at 4:00 PM every day) - so they told me to slip the cash under the door - are you kidding me?? I am trying to file a complaint, but the only contact info on their web page is for the webmaster. Worst run organization I have ever experienced.
