By Balloons and Cupcakes at Citysearch September 28, 2011
If you went to Party City in Burien for some balloons and found out they were closed, there is a silver lining. Across the street at the corner of 156th and 1st a new balloon store opened up called Balloons and Cupcakes. They have a large selection of balloons to choose from. Do You Know What's in Your Lotion??
Lotion is lotion. Body wash is body wash. It's all the same right? Sure... except for those pesky toxins that are creeping into your skin... Take a quick look at the ingredients on your body products. Do you recognize the first 5 ingredients? No? That's a shame because 98% of that bottle is made up of those first 5 ingredients. Do you see the words Mineral Oil? YUCK. That's refined petroleum. As in gasoline! And you want that on your skin? It creates a barrier so foolproof that it doesn't allow your skin to breathe and doesn't allow it to purge environmental toxins. mmmm....healhty. How about parabens? Latest research shows parabens may be linked to breast cancer. And pthalates? A UW research study just showed that pthalates in bath and body products are causing reproductive abnormalities in both males and females. They are urging women of childbearing age to not use products with pthalates. Trouble is, companies don't have to list it that way on their labels! I, for one, am turning to natural based products for some peace of mind. My favorites can be foundhere. I especially adore their lotions which are made first and foremost with organic aloe and come in over 20 scents! If you are looking to eliminate some of those nasty toxins in your daily regiment, consider going natural without losing thefun! ...read more

The Crazy World of Internet Networking
This Spa Girl is working hard to figure out how to network on the big wide web. Where do you start? What sites are worth posting at? Who gets you views and what links get clicked? It's all very exciting and extremely time consuming. I've found that Merchant Circle gets me listed quickly on google, which is exactly what I was hoping for. My latest find isSquidoo where I have just created a brand new page (or lense, as they call it). I'm not quite sure yet what that will do for me, but it sounded cool at least. Online classifieds were another quick stop, such asOodle andFlugpo. The general ads on Craigslist were doing enough for me, so brancing out to wider audiences seemed like a good plan. I'll let you know how those go. When you've got a passion for a company, as I do forSpa Girl Parties, it seems like you can go hours and hours just dreaming up ways to get the word out. Hey, all you start ups out there - let's share some tips and get the word about our fabulous companies out there! sabrina@spagirlparties.com Sabrina Tinius National Director Spa Girl Parties ...read more
