This is my go-to salon for a consistent good look, on a budget. 80s music and grafitti covered walls attempt a hip, art school look. Haircuts for long hair, and hair color runs as low as $26. Hair colors woven into your do for as low as $45. Regular high end salon products with "sales" all the time, a 100% return policy, and "frequent visitor card" that can earn you a free cut or color after 10 visits. You will not sacrifice quality -- although you will not get a lot of creativity and you will sit in the chair twice as long (minimum) as a regular salon. If you don't have the money, but have the time, and you are not getting married or about to appear in a fashion show, this is the place to go for great hair care. ...read more

My wife had a very bad experience here in April 2008 and she still has the scars to prove it! She went in for a simple cut and was worked on for 2 hours! by the trainer and an advanced student. They said nothing about her neck. When she arrived home and asked me to look at the back of her neck it looked as if the stylists had used a saw on her: Four 4" scratches on her neck caused by an electric clipper. She immediately called Gene Juarez's corporate office to complain and request the balance of her $385 gift certificate be returned in cash. To say the management of Gene Juarez was less than helpful or apologetic is an understatement. We're still waiting for a call back from Colleen (Guest Relations Manager). ...read more

I have been going to the regular beauty school which is $10 hair cut but you get what you pay for (sometimes its good sometimes its bad) and you wait in the chair 2 hours. If you want top quality hair cut and it cost 3X as much but they do an amazing job and you don't have to worry about a bad hair day. The stylists are extremely nice as well. One of the best haircuts I've ever had and I didn't have to pay $60 bucks for it. ...read more
