Fernwood at the Park

One of my grandparents came to live here less than a year ago. We were told because he is a veteran that he qualified to get his $1600/month rent for his studio apartment covered partially, and possibly even fully, by the VA. We were also told that since the occupancy was so low, that we were getting the lowest price ever offered. Lastly, we were told that while they could raise the rent each year, it hasn't happened in several years, and if it did, it would most likely be only a percentage or two each year. He has not received ANY VA benefits and has submitted the application several times trying. He also is paying the most per month out of any body that we have talked to that lives there. To top it off, he hasn't even been there a year and they have already raised his rent the full 8% cap!! We definitely feel the sales pitch was sleazy and we were taken advantage of. Stratford at Maple Leaf

My grandmother stayed at Stratford at Maple Leaf and was a raving fan. Whenever I talked to her she always had something positive thing to say about her experience. Her highlights seemed to be the staff who were always friendly and kind to her, the food which I think exceeded her expectations, and the interior decor which is quite a bit nicer than the other places she has stayed. We even had a family birthday get together for her great-granddaughter in the private dining room which the chef prepared a special cake for!
