I am writing this post so people can be aware of how the management treats their residents in these apartments. My husband and I have been residents at Bradford Park Apartment Homes for two years. We are seniors and my husband became disabled after his stroke about three years ago. When we moved in, we paid a $750 dollar deposit. The payment was made with the money order per managers direction. The manager did not issue a receipt. This will never happen again, we will not leave without a receipt in the future. Two years later, when we moved out, we left the unit shiny clean and tried our best to leave our apartment in better condition then when we moved in. We were waiting for a deposit refund as promised, but instead, they've sent us a bill of $300 dollas. We were very confused and upset. I went to their office to figure out what's going on and the management told me that we NEVER PAID ANY DEPOSIT!!! I've tried everything I could to solve this situation but there seems to be no way. They couldn't help me at the bank because the money order was made with cash, and since I don't have any receipts, I can't prove it. After stealing our money, we were forced to pay an additional $300 dollars! I called the apartment's regional manager at least 10 times, left him two voicemails but he never even bothered to return my calls. About our unit, we had water leaking from the sealing at least 3 times, our corners in our bedrooms and living room were always moldy. The management did not do anything about these issues. Also, units are very noisy , you can hear every single step in the upper unit. For us it was very hard because neighbors dogs were always barking. DON'T BE FOOLED BY their " Stunning New Interiors". It's nothing more than cheap laminate on the counter tops that, when humid, starts to come unglued. The fixtures are cheap and from Walmart. The floor tiles are not tile, but cheap laminate to look like tile. The apartments are old. They are not properly insulated, so in the winter it gets cold. The windows are cheap and let out all the heat, thus making your electric bill VERY HIGH. Water heaters are old and have rust in the water. Since the walls are not properly insulated, you can hear everything that is going on in the apartment if you are walking in the hallway. The ceiling, DOES NOT HAVE cement, but very old wood floor boards. Management likes to put obese people on the third floor. So if you live underneath an obese person, beware. It is extremely loud with the floor creaking, cracking, and their stomping. Also, the police are constantly here because of the constant drug use in these apartments.
