About Clarkston, WA

Clarkston is a city in Asotin County, Washington. It is part of the Lewiston ID-WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 7,337 in 2000. Clarkston is named after William Clark, co-leader of the Lewis and Clark Expidition. One of the most popular areas in the city is the Port of Clarkston, which provides a great opportunity for visitors to boat and fish on the Snake River. Lewis-Clark State College is located in Lewiston, just 4 miles East of Clarkston. It's a very nice little town to move to. Nice river to play on during the summer.

What ever you do, do not ever order anything from this bogus company. Coldpoint Seafood http://alaskasalmonforsale.com/ https://www.facebook.com/ColdpointSeafoods I ordered from them on February 18th, a few days later I never heard from them about the order so I emailed them and asked when my order would be shipped. They responded and said it would ship on February 29th. On March 4th I emailed them again to asked if they shipped the product, no response. On March 5th I emailed again, and no response. On March 7th I called the number on the website and reached an individual cell phone and not the company shown on the website. I still have never received an email response from them, so I then called Chase, the credit card company that I used to pay for the order, and they immediately issued a refund. If this is a legitimate company they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. ...read more

Thanks everyone.

 Well after 5 months of waiting and waiting to see if the owners sold the motel Gina and I have been offered a new job down in Florida.  So with all the uncertainty and stress of watching the owners keep extended the closing date month after month we took the plunge and accepted.  So as of August 31st Gina and I will be leaving to run the Le Cabanon Motel in Pompano Beach FL.  Due to the distance we will not be taking over there until September 8th.  So I would like to thank everyone who has stayed with us over the past three years and wish all off you good fortune from now on.  It's been a rocky road at times particularly at the start when we had to fight to get funding for needed upgrades but without your comments and help we could never have learnt how to improve all guests stays.  Many thanks and best wishes to you all.  Graham. ...read more

The Presidential election this year.

 Now I hate to mix politics with business but I feel forced to make a comment due to the lies spread around by the Republican party ATM !!  First small businesses like us will not have to pay extra taxes if Obama gets re-elected. This is just a distortion of the facts and it's only large corporations who will have to forgo their tax breaks.  Second If Romney gets in and enacts everything he says he stands for then small business will benefit in the short term and then will be penalized as he will need to raise tax dollars to give to the rich!  Third How can anyone trust a man who can't even decide from one week to the next which side of the fence he wants to be on?  Romney has changed his message to suit those he wants to appeal to regardless of the position he took before.  The only thing he has been consistent with is "The rich need tax cuts"  Now while we are nowhere near rich according to the Republicans standards as we only make around $500K/year with all 5 of our businesses we would have no problem paying more tax as long as it goes to Americans who need it and isn't spent in the pork barrel or to help lobbyists enhance their company loyalties.  So fellow Americans think long and hard before you vote please. ...read more
