Home Security this Summer
This summer when you take your family on vacation, don't forget to have a trusted neighbor watch over your home and other properties. The bad guys are out in full force this year again. Other then the usual crimes like burglary, vandalism, theft, and other home invation crimes, the meth morons are stealing copper wire from everywhere they can find it. If you have a alarm system at your home, be sure to check the backup batteries. If the batteries are bad, your alarm might not activate if your main power is shut off by one of these bad guys. Another option you might consider is to call your local law enforcement agency and ask them to do extra security watches in your area, be sure to let them know that you are going on vacation and when you expect to be back home. You could also hire a security company to patrol your property a number of times per night. Which ever arrangements you decide on this summer, just remember that it's not like it was 25-30 years ago when you could go on vacation and leave your home unlocked in many of these same areas. ...read more
