My last experience was the worst ever. After my color was messed up. My stylist was too busy with her next client. I was then turned over to an apprentice. Lack of customer service, customer respect and total lack of talent ...read more

I read these reviews and was excited to find a good spa. Well these are obvisely old because for one I called because I got lost and the girl that answered the phone didnt even know where they were at. I get there had to wait a half hour and the hairdressers I was seeing had two older women he was taking care of. He slide me in and was talking on the phone, taking care of the other women. Poor planning took about an hour and it wasnt because he was taking care of me. Then charged me 55 and I could of got a better haircut from The Haircuttery which I will continue to go to. DONT waste your money. ...read more

Dry hair and static?

Now we are in the season of the cold and wet outside air and the cozy and really dry air inside. Our hair looks like it wants to scream and it feeling really dry.   So just remember to condition your hair correctly, I get a lot of comments and complaints that the hair gets oily very fast if they use conditioner, so they don't. I would urge every one to rethink the application of the conditioner. Don't use it like the shampoo, a big blop in the middle and try to pull it in evey direction from there, which is not very efficient either and rather wasteful. Take a tsp or up to a tbsp if you have longer hair, spread the conditioner in your hands and than scrunch it in to the hair. Note that you are not putting it on the scalp; work it through with your fingers and rinse. To avaoid any static later make sure you use a light oil based finishing product. I also recommend the use of a flat Iron with some " Heat smart Serum" from Thermafuse or the Moroccan oil. This will give you outstanding shine, frizz control and feel to your hair. ...read more

Bad Hair Days?

It is often our own fault if we got a bad hair day. It is usually the the wrong products or the wrong use and amount of a product. I'm not saying you have to use a professional product but the right one. We all have different Chemistry so you might have to search around a bit. I personally prefere Thermafuse, a professional line because it repairs while you heat style, their dry oil is amazing, and a bit lighter than the  Moroccan oil, if you use a flat Iron or curling Iron a lot. I would always use a Mousse, normal hold, on damp hair for the initial drying. Remember, if your hair is too wet you dilute the product and can't get the performance you would like and use a few smaller amounts until you feel you got it where you need it. If you have a lot of issues with your hair it might be that the style isn't working right for you. You can always bring your products with for your appointment and I give you a personal lesson on how to use them best and how to achieve the style you want. E-mail me for other questions you have: thebeautycottage@aol.com and I'll post it here with the answer/suggestion. ...read more
