8/15/2010 - our first visit to the Virginia Beach Amphitheater to see the 3rd rescheduling of the Brooks and Dunn concert. After waiting in line for 30 minutes to get to the gate, we are rudely told that we can't bring in a chair that is over 9" in height to sit on the lawn. I looked it up on their web site trying to determine what type of chair to bring and could not find it, it's in the very very small print and at the end of many other things you can do. We didn't stay, I'm not sitting on the ground for 3 hours for any concert. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK to this venue. What a waste of money and my time. I will surely pass this around to all my friends and anyone who will listen. What difference should it make what type a chair someone sits in your paying to sit on the lawn. ...read more

If anyone hasn't noticed, we're in the middle of recession! People don't have fun money to spend during a recession ... at least not on concerts. Verizon stopped having you pay per car and now have you pay $6 bucks per person to get in. In addition to waiting in line to swap your voucher out for a ticket, you have to pay them more money. That wasn't the biggest deal, but the cost of food and drinks is astronomical. You can't bring your own, so you're stuck paying between $10-$11 for a beer and $6 for a piece of 6" round pizza. The enviroment has become so controlled, it isn't a concert anymore. I feel like I'm in prison or some middle Eastern country. People need to boycott buying any stuff from them and see if they get a message that we're fed up with getting raked over the coals at every turn. ...read more
