Horrible company to deal with! They took over a my lease for my office after my original lamdlord was foreclosed on. They didn't notify me until weeks after the transaction, over a month passed before a new lease was sent for me to sign. The lease they sent had all sorts of crazy provisions. When I asked them a few simply questions the response received was "you have been sent to collections" . According to them, the lease and my security deposit "died at foreclosure".. if that's the case how do I owe anything? Mind you I am current on the rent through the previous month and the new lease was sent to me the 6th of the month they say I'm in default for.. This is the samr company that handled a rental property for a friend and he got a bill for 6k worth of repairs and they did not get prior authorization for any of it! The property sat vacant for months after an eviction because they didn't turn the property which contributed to his rental property not collecting rent 12 out of 18 months I would never do business with them! I've had friends that put their rental property under their management. VERY unorganized. Failed to make repairs on a watet leak for over a month -which ended up making the repair bill way higher. ...read more

Just wanted to do the right thing here and let people know that there is a bed bug infestation in the 1215 building at Shockoe Commons starting in January 2015 and it is still ongoing (and getting worse actually) several months later. I have lived here for a couple of years without any major issues but now that there are bed bugs I can't wait to get away from here. It has been an awful experience. Waking up with itchy bites and physically seeing bugs in your bed is just a nightmare, and getting rid of bed bugs is even more of a nightmare. This is going on in many of the apartments in the building, not just one or two. They spread so easily. I really recommend staying away from here for your own happiness and peace of mind. ...read more

Horrible apartments...woke up to a rat in my toilet, apparently it is not an urban myth. Office is open maybe once a week,except when rent is due of course. Greedy, seedy place, forget about receiving your security deposit back. Don't be fooled by the rent prices, you do get what you pay for, and renting from SECAM Properties was not a great experience at all. Did I forget to mention the rat in the toilet?!!?
