I purchased a Toyota Prius from Motorvation, which has two lots (one off Broad St and this one), under the emphasis of it being a reliable car for me. I personally contacted the dealer, Jamie, and told him my situation. I have been serving as a missionary for the past 3 years in South Africa and have recently returned back to the States and needed a reliable car. I told him how much I was willing to spend and asked if he would work with me. He brought the car down to my price and explained that it had some superficial damages (paint missing, etc.) but that it was a reliable car and would be a great fit for me.Turns out, the catalytic converter is faulty and needs to be replaced which will cost $2100. When I finally got a hold of Jamie which was after 3 weeks of leaving messages, he told me he would work with me and not leave me hanging dry. A week later, he changed his story and said he can not help with the price but has found me a cheaper way. My mechanic strongly discourages it. ...read more
