The lease says that a renter can be kicked out & forced to cover rent of unit till rented if they cause too much noise. I have my fiance over on weekends only because he is in the service & arrives around 10pm. We were talking after we got back to the apartment & there came a banging on the ceiling below. Next morning I found a note on my door from "neighbors" about too much noise, especially at night. I work 10 hours, come home, shower, & go to bed except on weekends. I'm worried the landlord can just take a complaint about noise (which only happens on weekends unless it's foot traffic during the week - wood floors so it all echoes) & kick me out for trying to live in my space that I pay rent for. I emailed management asking what to do, that I was concerned & all they did was send a notice to residents about not putting notes on doors. I have been floored by the level of unprofessionalism at Langley Rentals. During the 2012 power outage, they never contacted us to find out if we were ok. They did show up during the middle of it while we had no water or power to inform us that they were going to inspect our refrigerator the following day. Apparently a cheap refrigerator that was covered in the deposit was more important that making sure that we had a place to go with our children that was safe in the heat.When I gave them a chance to admit their actions were wrong, they accused us of lying, and never expressed the least amount of remorse. Other times, they have shown lack of knowledge of rental laws, and a complete disregard for professional behavior. Avoid, its not worth any money you might save. ...read more
