After seeing the work Mr. Washington and his crew did on a neighbor's home, I was excited in hiring him for a painting job for our house. After we took some time finding the right colors, he was happy to send a crew to paint. The response was fast and courteous. The quality was anything but. We used the highest quality paint only to find consistent bare spots on the walls. There were many drip marks where the painters failed to clean their brushes and paint built up. They painted over holes instead of sealing. They also spilled paint all over electronic equipment, carpeting, tapestry, and household goods. One worker even damaged my appliances by using it as a makeshift ladder when painting the ceiling. I was charged prices for premium paint for paint that was basic paint found in Walmart. After several weeks of attempting to reach Mr. Washington, he finally responded saying that he was sorry for the delay and wanted to make it right. We agreed on a purchase of a 5 gallon bucket or refund of the equivalent. A month later, he has yet to be heard from and I was forced to hire another company to complete my home (who did a remarkable job). I am not and have never been an employee of this company. I Regret to write at this time, I do not recommend Sweetwater construction and Gary Honeywell. They are capable of doing good work; and up until now, I have been on good terms with them. The first job that I hired them for was completed and done well. They were friendly and easy to work with. There was a contract written and I paid an initial payment; and then the rest of the money was paid by payments made during different phases of the job. Unfortunately, the next two contracts I have signed with Sweetwater Construction have not gone so well. Gary Honeywell ask for payments early before different phases of the work were completed; and I made the mistake of paying them. Now, he has been paid all the payments and I cannot get him to come back and complete the work. I may have to seek legal help in order to get them to finish work that should have been completed last year. For sure, if you do hire this company, or if you already have hired them, do not give them any payments until the stages of the work are completed as per the contract. Decent furniture, reasonable prices, but DO NOT BUY THE ITEM IF THEY DO NOT HAVE IT IN STOCK. Delivery estimates are worthless. Originally I was told it would be 3 weeks. At the beginning of week 3 I called and was told it would not be delivered by the end of the third week and they could not guarantee it would be delivered even by the end of week 4. Was given some absurd explanation about items being on the docks, and they have no control and blah blah blah... Meanwhile they were more than happy to take my entire payment up front. Matt presents as a knowledgeable person who can do the job; however, he does not do what he says he will do. He painted a door frame with a different color varnish that he tried to sand off- we use an oil base stain on our log home. Caulk not applied to many areas especially where he it was hard to see without a ladder. Wasp nest left in eves showing not only were they not stained, they weren’t even cleaned.
