I have been a regular customer here for more than 18 years! The owner/manager usually does my nails though through the years I have been helped by other staff members as well. Everyone is professional, friendly and accommodating. The attention to detail and customer service is top notch. I've been having my nails done at Romancing The Nails since the day they opened. In addition to nails, I've had pedicures and waxing done. All services rendered to date have been exemplary. Mai, who owns the salon provides each of her customer with great customer service. I have seen Mai take time to correct any defect that a customer might point out to her. I'll be having my nails don at Romancing The Nails in Chantilly until I move away or Mai decides to close the shop. wouldn't think of going anywhere else to have my nails done. ...read more

Avon 125 years old! In my own life Avon has been a steady influence. I remember little perfume pins as a kid that I wore. My first perfume was Sweet Honesty. I remember when Anew brand was launched. And my Mother's favorite eye liner then and now is Glimmersticks. We bought makeup, perfume, lotions, jewelry and many of those products are still in the line today. I became an Avon Lady for the first time when I graduated from high school. I never took it seriously and just bought a few things for myself and my mother. After a time I just closed my account. I remember it was easy to start and easy to quit. I didn't go into debt, I didn't pay a huge start up fee. I was young and just too busy with starting college, hanging out with friends and well being young. Many years later I was a new Mom struggling with the adjustment from working daily to working as a SAHM daily. I loved being home with my son but at the same time I missed the daily interaction with co-workers and working. I needed something flexible and while I wanted to make some extra money that was not my only goal I wanted to build something, become a part of something and meet new people. I remembered Avon a trusted name and a stable company. Avon did all that and more. In that five years I worked at my pace (slow and steady). My business built slow and steady. But even at the start I was meeting many people. I had fun going to meetings and luncheons. I earned prizes and awards. I was getting discounted products. I kept putting most of my earnings into my Avon. My goals was that as my son entered into a full day of school I would have a full time business going. I met all those goals. But life is never as we think it will be and just as my son was finishing Kindergarten my husband (auto engineer) lost his position when the 2008 economic meltdown hit the auto industry. Suddenly our home was threatened. Our lifestyle changed and our plans forgotten. We had to make some big changes. Avon proved to be a life line as well as flexible. I took all the money I was earning and stopped putting it back into my business and just bought food or paid a utility bill. My sales were down the area was hit hard but I was able to keep bringing in enough in orders and incentives to help. I was very frustrated at first all my hard work and my plans gone. So I changed my outlook; those five years to build my Avon up gave us the 9 months we needed before my husband luckily found a new opportunity in a new state. The new job brought us to Virginia and while I am not at my high sales level (yet) and I'm earning far less as before I was able to work my Avon at the pace I needed. Avon gave us discounted products and the little money I made from orders helped discount those products even more. I know from past experience that it's only a matter of time and I will back on track to my original plan. And most importantly I know that if unexpected changes happen that my Avon is flexible and comes in handy in a pinch. Avon has been doing this for 125 years. Avon has been a means for women to earn extra money or just save money. We have been making Avon Business that gives us full time careers or part time fun. Avon has also raised millions of dollars for the causes that affect women the most. And we have Avon Reps all over the world offering award winning products.
