How to Exfoliate Dry Skin

Exfoliating the skin is a great way to remove dead skin cells and reveal softer looking skin with a youthful glow. Exfoliating the skin only takes a few minutes, and it can be done with a store-bought cleanser or a scrub that you can make at home.

Items Needed

  • Exfoliating sponge or gloves

  • Exfoliating cleanser or scrub

  • Almonds

  • Honey

  • Lemon juice

  • Brown sugar

  • Olive oil

  • Moisturizer

Exfoliating Dry Skin

  • Look for an exfoliating sponge, gloves or a loofah to use in the shower, as well as an exfoliating cleanser that is designed for dry skin. You may also want to make your own natural exfoliating scrub at home, which will help exfoliate and moisturize the skin at the same time.

  • Wet your skin thoroughly with warm water, and use your exfoliating sponge or gloves to massage an exfoliating cleanser into your skin using gentle, circular motions. This will help remove dead skin cells and improve circulation to the area, leaving your skin with a healthy glow.

  • Rinse your skin thoroughly and dry off with a towel.

  • Apply a moisturizer to your skin after you have dried off.

  • Exfoliate the skin once or twice a week, but be careful not to overdo it, as exfoliating the skin too often may dry out the skin even more.

  • Avoid scrubbing the skin too hard while you are exfoliating, and be careful to avoid any cuts on the skin or extremely sensitive areas.

Homemade Body Scrub

  • Mix 1 cup of finely-ground almonds, 1/2 cup of honey and 2 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice together in a jar. This moisturizing scrub will remove dead skin cells and leave your skin soft and smooth.

  • Mix 1 cup of brown sugar with 1/4 cup of olive oil to make a natural exfoliating scrub that you can use in the shower.
