This company should come a warning sign. I was working with Ryan Hymas, the Executive Director of Accts. about my loan. He and I worked out an agreement about my loan and then no more than 3 days later went against the terms of the agreement. When I threatened legal action Ryan than stated that he would correct the mistake but only if he can rearange the terms of the original agreement. When I denied and asked for his supervisor, Ryan said that he reports to the President of the company (Curt Rudd which I had to Google since he wouldn't tell me) and he is not to be bother with this since he agrees with Ryan. Filed chapter 13, bought a beater. We were hurting. Our beater "Vincent) 1999 Meecury Villager Van, caused a few problems. He wasn't gonna win a Beauty contest but ran good. One day he was tired. Went to Layton Hills Doge and they basically picked our car for us. Said they could help even though we had a current 13 going on. Turns out, AVID wasn't the one financing. 18% interest! $392/mo. We pay $400. Lost my job, they offered a low payment for 3 months ($350) which I took for obvious reasons. 6 months later, we receive an email that says we owe $600 in late fees and other fees (due to the plan they offered me).. now, the vehicle we've had for roughly 4 years (loan amount was $18,000 roughly) is now finally down to under $10k, but only worth $2000??? Guess what, transmission went out Monday this week. I've called and emailed 4x since Monday to ask for a refi to help fix the tranning so we can drive this car in the dirt. Left 3 voicemails. Nobody has called or even emailed back. I also sent an email to get payoff info and such because we are switching auto insurance. Still nothing. I would definitely lend my opinion to anyone that they avoid this institution. Judging on the reviews I've read, I'd say people agree with me. I was also placed with Avid after filing bankruptcy, Amber will call you numerous times if you are late at all on your payment not to mention I have been driving this vehicle now for close to two years and have been paying 438.00 a month since I purchased this car 2009 nissan xterra and this vehicle was 16,000 and two years later I still owe 13,500. How does that even make sense that adds up to 10,512 dollars but I have only paid roughly 3000 towards principle this company is aweful I am trying to do a trade in just to get away from this company not to mention they dont offer a warranty and I am pretty sure my vehicle was in an accident prior to me buying it and of course they dont tell you that they make you pay for a vehicle report. I was placed with Avid through Tom Wood Honda, not only did I get hit with a high interest rate after filing bankruptcy when my co-worker did the same thing and went to another dealership and received a 9.6% interest. I missed a couple payments due to my mother having dementia and I am not her payee for her pension but her issues are coming out of my pocket. Avid will call you everyday and I have a demanding job, they are leaving messages on my work phone and when I tried to set up my payment, they locked me out of their website to make me call them. They make you feel like a criminal/child and make threats against you to take you to court, I told them to come pick the car up because I have a spare car anyway. I can not wait until my three years is up, I am trading this car in and going with someone else. I will go to a buy here, pay here. Had the nerve to tell me I couldn't afford the car, EXCUSE ME!!! I have an elderly mother who needs my help to keep people from taking advantage of her and if they want the car come get it because my mom comes first. DO NOT!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT!!!! Example your monthly payment is $588 + $13 towards principle and the rest towards interest aka their pockets. These people are horrible. I called to ask for a 6 day extension on my payment and even offered to do a double payment (one that was 3 weeks early) and they said they could not. I said even if I don't get paid until then, there is nothing you can do? No we can't. It amazes me that for it to be put on your credit, a payment has to be at least 30 days late yet this so called company will still threaten you for a few days. If I had known how these people were, I would have NEVER gotten an auto loan from them!!!!!! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
