My daughter (6 yrs) has been attending The Learning Tree daycare for about 20 months. I chose the daycare because there were limited options in the area. Over the almost 2 years she has been attending the daycare, I have noticed the staff become less caring for the children as well as the parents. I have witnessed the teachers regularly yelling and disrespecting the children. The facility participates in the federal food program which is a very valuable option for those who need it. However, if your child does not want to eat the food, the staff still requires them to take the plate and then throw the food away. This is definitely not a habit I want my child to learn. When I brought my concerns up with the director (Bethany), I received very little understanding and a comment "You can choose another daycare or you can take your child directly to school" (to avoid the required breakfast). Neither one an option for my work schedule and the school my daughter is attending. Recently I received a call from the director threatening to not pick up my daughter from school because I failed to pay the week tuition for Christmas week (she only attended 2.5 days of the week) and quite honestly it slipped my mind. If she had reviewed my account, she would have realized I always pay on time and often early. Instead of a threat to pay over the phone, a polite call would have been appreciated. The lack of respect starts at the front desk and spreads through the facility to 70% of the teachers my daughter has been involved with (or I have witnessed while walking to her classroom). Sure there are a few who are sweet and caring towards my daughter but not enough in my opinion. If you are seeking a daycare in the Murray/Millcreek area, you will probably be in the same predicament I was in. There just aren't enough childcare facilities. Please take my experience into consideration. ...read more

My Dad is a disabled marine. He has been fighting with the Salt Lake VA Hospital for years now. No matter what help he needs, they always make sure to extend any surgery until it's at the state of emergency. He just recently had back surgery, after 2 years or so of being jerked around and put on waiting list after waiting list. They came up with every excuse in the book not to do the surgery, whether it was instead giving him pain medication, or a shot that is supposably going to "take the pain" away. At the same time, his right knee was due to be replaced, but because of his back being so bad, they scheduled emergency surgery for that instead. Now that he has recovered from the back surgery, he was trying to get them into replacing his knee, and again he is getting excuse after excuse on it. Not only that, but his primary care doctor has been switched on him more times than i can count in just the last 5 years. Now, I also take into consideration that these providers are interns, not doctors, but come on man. He gets a new doctor and has to start all over again! When my father was in the hospital in recovery this last time, the RN's and the aids were all very rude, taking a good amount of time to get back to you, even for a glass of water, because they are too busy sitting at the computers playing games and chatting like little school girls about some new found gossip. The room my father was in was absolutely filthy...(I worked at the university hospital for housekeeping for 2 years, and if I would have cleaned the rooms like this one was, I would have lost my job.) The VA needs to clean up their staff, and get people in there that actually care about the patients. This is absolutely ridiculous! ...read more

Learning Tree schools, though they have great ideals for children, treat their staff horribly causing high turn over rates, which in turn affects the children in their care. Their rules for both staff and parents cause's high tension and an uncomfortable environment. Staff are not allowed to have any kind of relationship with each other or their families. ...read more
